Despite the original Coraline being a beloved stop-motion classic, a sequel, Coraline 2, is highly unlikely due to the animation studio president's firm stance against sequels.

As of now, Neil Gaiman has dispelled rumors of a Coraline live-action movie, but a remastered version of Coraline has hit theaters, and there are many actors who would be perfect if a reboot of the beloved animated film ever got made.

SO, I did some research on some mental issues, and the one most outstanding to Coraline's experience, was schizophrenia. At first, I was thinking,'This is too common to be true. ' But, as it turns out, all of her experience point to schizophrenia.
This movie is supposed to be like a horror movie but for kids so most definitely it's going to be a little creepy, it's expected.. definitely wouldn't recommend it to younger kids but for older ones this is a great one to watch specially around halloween. I watch this all the time since I was a kid, it's just great.
To put it simply, Coraline's "real" mother and the Beldam are the same person. The movie/book (whichever--theory makes sense for both) is not what Coraline experiences literally.
