Deadpool's new powers as Apocalypse's Famine manifest through the antihero's mouth, from which Deadpool can conjure a deadly cloud of locusts. In order to control this ability, Deadpool has his mouth sewn shut, and only breaks the stitching when he needs to unleash his disgusting yet incredibly effective new ability.
In that film, the Merc With the Mouth couldn't speak because his mouth was sewn shut, which is hilarious in retrospect when you consider that Reynolds rebooted the character in his 2016 smash hit Deadpool on the strength of his antihero's indefatigable yammering and wise-cracking.
He feels no shame and can make a joke out of any situation, even after months of endless torture and being shaken by his subsequent transformation. Only a few select people can withstand his seemingly endless talking, and his mouth is sewn shut in the final act of X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
Deadpool might have been mute in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, but they're overlooking one small part of his history as a comic book character. Deadpool became the Merc Without A Mouth after having it sewn shut so the writers weren't forced to derail their movie on his account.

Ultimately, the Merc with the Mouth became a fan-favorite hero, and in modern stories, his healing outshines even that of Wolverine, with Wade able to survive incredible injury, from decapitation to incineration.
But in Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe, Wade suffers a truly gruesome injury courtesy of the Fantastic Four's Invisible Woman, who uses her powers to make his head explode. Elsewhere, Deadpool has been decapitated by the Hulk, but still survives. The logic stating Deadpool's body can grow his head back, too.
Weapon XI is also referred to by Col. William Stryker as "Deadpool", due to having powers "pooled" from many other mutants killed and/or kidnapped in the film, including Wolverine's healing factor, Cyclops' optic blasts, Wraith's teleportation ability, and Chris Bradley's technopathy.
As a result of the cancer reemerging and his healing factor attempting to fight it off, Deadpool has a perpetually scarred body, which he tends to keep covered.

His movie healing factor on limb regrowth was super slow. He would have regrown from the hand if that was the only thing left. Bonus, he can regrow from basically atoms in the place he was killed.
Deadpool might have his fair share of comedic moments in the Marvel universe, but the mercenary's powers allow him to be one of the strongest Marvel characters, proficient enough to defeat and kill major Marvel heroes ranging from Captain America to The Fantastic Four.
Of course this is the Immortal Hulk we are talking about and no other Hulks. Hulk could potentially heal faster than Deadpool due to the whole angrier he gets the faster he heals things. But they are pretty much at the same level currently.
Like Deadpool and Wolverine – but way less publicized – the Hulk has the ability to grow entirely new tissue and heal from most wounds in just seconds. Severe wounds as well – including the near-complete destruction of his body mass – are also no match for the healing abilities of the Hulk.
