For those familiar with the movie In Time, this German Netflix thriller has a similar premise, but with a few changes. Time is exchanged for money, instead of entirely replacing it.
As the last scenes of Paradise show, Elena goes ahead with the surgery, her body slowly de-ageing 38 years, while Marie ages after reuniting with Sophie. Grey hair and wrinkles appearing on her face, Marie tells her mother they are compatible enough for her to pass some years on, but Sophie refuses.
The last 15 minutes could've been more cohesive and explained better, but considering this international film was put together by newb filmmakers, it was still an impressive little gem, and Netflix once again didn't let us down, especially with the spot-on English dubbing.
