More sequels were planned to follow Resurrection, but were ultimately abandoned as the crossover series arrived with the 2004 film Alien vs. Predator, along with the prequel series including the 2012 film Prometheus.
The fourth film in the Alien saga, Alien Resurrection, was believed to be the last installment in the series (chronologically speaking), though little do many fans know, there is a sequel to that story that has been completely forgotten–and it's the darkest Alien story of them all.
Unfortunately Ripley was carrying a Queen Alien embryo inside of her, which the company, Weyland Yutani, wanted to preserve to produce biological weapons. Ripley kills herself to avoid this. Centuries after the death of Ripley, scientists were able to clone her using DNA acquired from the incidents in Alien 3.

Did David not create the Xenomorphs?
In the novelization of Alien: Covenant, David reveals that his creations are not entirely original and are his attempt to replicate the Xenomorphs created by the Engineers.
In the novelization of Alien: Covenant (which was based on the script) it says the engineers created the Xenomorph. In the Covenant DVD commentary, director Ridley Scott says David created the Xenos.
Alien: Romulus is the seventh film in the Alien franchise. The movie is directed by Fede Álvarez and will focus on a new young group of characters who come face to face with the terrifying Xenomorphs.
After Peter Weyland is killed, David is freed from servitude, allowing him to conduct experiments to engineer his own variants of the Alien creature; the David line of androids would ultimately be succeeded by the Walter. Alien Resurrection had its premiere in Paris on November 6, 1997, and was released to the public on November 12. It grossed US$47.8 million in the United States and Canada, the least successful of the Alien series in that market.
Regardless, she then had Francis Aaron help her run a scan in the EEV and she then discovered she had been impregnated by a facehugger and had a Queen gestating inside her.
Nearly every single choice in Alien: Resurrection feels misguided. Joss Whedon's script lacks the terror and suspense of an Alien film as well as just being full of really bad dialogue. The performances from the entire cast are shockingly poor, and there's an overall lack of passion for the telling of this story.
Despite having a critical improvement over the third film, Alien Resurrection wasn't well received by critics, audience or fans alike, as it received mixed reviews like Alien 3. In addition, the sequels were cancelled after Resurrection underperformed at the box-office.
Two hundred years after the events of Alien 3, military scientists on the outer space vessel USM Auriga create a clone of Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) using DNA from blood samples taken before her death. The Alien queen's DNA was mixed in with Ripley's, and the clone grows up with an embryo already inside it.

So the actual logic of the ending is pretty clear (if a bit bent in terms of rules for xenomorph lifecycles). David likely killed Walter, removed his own hand and switched clothes with his synthetic brother. He then took a one way trip off of “Paradise” with embryotic tokens of his work in his synthetic tummy.
Dr. Shaw was tragically killed in the crash. Later, as Walter went to confront David about his lies, he came across Elizabeth Shaw's very cold and very dead corpse in David's own quarters, not buried in the garden amongst the living as David had earlier told his synthetic brother.
At the time of writing, the Alien TV series is set to release in 2025, while Alien: Romulus will hit theaters on August 16, 2024. Until then, fans can only binge-watch the rest of the movies and speculate about what cosmic horrors Disney has in store.
Eventually, Shaw was able to successfully reattach David's head to his body. The two were successfully able to locate the Engineer's homeworld before Shaw entered one of the ship's hypersleep chambers.
The Alien Egg appeared in 2017's Alien Covenant. These were David's creations and not exactly the same eggs that we've seen before. They didn't come from a Queen Alien but from David genetically engineering them and therefore look a little different.
Alien: Covenant actually credits the Alien as Xenomorph, while also listing a different variety of the creature as the Neomorph. In The Weyland-Yutani Report, the Alien encountered by the Nostromo was specifically referred to as "Xenomorph XX121".
David tells Walter that he used Shaw's reproductive system to create the first Xenomorph specimen, and that her body was used as a host for its gestation. While the movie does not show the actual process of David impregnating Shaw, the implication is that he used her body and genetic material to create a new life form.
