Tai Lung's surprising redemption arc sets the stage for the former villain to appear in a future film in the franchise. By the 2024 animated comedy's end, the former villain has to return to the Spirit Realm, but not before he completes his redemption arc.
Kung Fu Panda 3 confirmed that the Wuxi fingerhold sends people to the Spirit Realm. This revelation directly applies to Tai Lung's fate since this is the exact move Po used to defeat him. As a result, Tai Lung is not back from the dead per se in Kung Fu Panda 4. He is rather pulled from the Spirit Realm temporarily.
Tai Lung is the only Kung Fu Panda character to be Inconsistently Heinous. He is also the only main villain from the movies to not be Near Pure Evil, unlike his successors Lord Shen and Kai the Collector.
Years prior to the original movie, Shifu thought for a time that the Dragon Warrior would be Tai Lung due to being a kung-fu prodigy, but Oogway refused him the title because he saw the true darkness in Tai Lung's heart, causing the snow leopard to go on a rampage.
Kai would win. Not only is he bigger and stronger, but he is more skilled than Tai lung, physically and spiritually. Master Oogway was the most powerful kung fu master who has ever lived in the Kung fu Panda universe. Not only in physical might but in spiritual might as well.
In short, Po beat Tai Lung not by being the superior fighter, but by being his perfect counter. Shifu lost because he was conflicted, and the Five were caught off guard by the nerve attacks they had never come across before.
Po utilizes the Wuxi Finger Hold on him, obliterating Tai Lung. Tai Lung's defeat marks Po as a Kung fu warrior. In Kung Fu Panda 3, it's explained that the Finger Hold instantly sends its victim to the Spirit Realm, indicating that Tai Lung now resides there.
And so, in a universe where Tai Lung never became evil, he became a symbol of hope, of redemption, and of the true spirit of the Dragon Warrior. And that is the story of Tai Lung, the redeemed, the mentor, the friend, the true Dragon Warrior. A story of hope, honor, and redemption.
It was shown that Tai Lung had survived his battle with Po. To enact his plan for revenge, he gathered multiple clans and gangs, including the Wu Sisters, to capture enough villagers so that their energy can power his new weapon, which would give him super strength.
However, Oogway sensed that Tai Lung had darkness in his heart, so the wise turtle denied him the Dragon Scroll; in response Tai Lung ravaged the Valley of Peace, leading him to be defeated and sent away in prison before returning to face the true Dragon Warrior after his breakout.
At the end of the film, Lord Shen's own battle-cannon collapses on top of him. Instead of running, he closes his eyes and accepts his death, knowing he has failed and preventing any persecution for his crimes. Years after his defeat, he became more calm due to possibly the Spirit Realm which has come to view as home.
The most simple explanation is that Kai wanted to keep the power of Oogway and Tai Lung, assuming those two were the strongest Warriors he had faced and he couldn't afford to fight and stay vulnerable without their Chi in him.
He battles Tai Lung using a mix of what he's learned from Shifu and his own natural talents. Climactic Moment: Po uses the Wuxi Finger Hold to destroy Tai Lung. Resolution: Po is greeted as a hero by the citizens and acknowledged as a master by the Five. He then rushes back to Shifu and learns he's not dead.
Why did Shifu adopt Tai Lung when he was left at the Jade Palace? Well, Shifu had been abandoned by his father at the same place. He knew what it felt like to be without any guidance. So he decided to be the guardian of Tai Lung, similarly to what Oogui had done for him.
In a battle between Tai Lung and Kai, it is generally believed that Kai would emerge victorious. Here's why: Size and Strength: Kai is depicted as being bigger and stronger than Tai Lung [1]. His physical prowess gives him an advantage in combat, allowing him to overpower his opponents.
The humor isn't strong and the characters, while the character of PO is still fun, the new characters and the villain were really uninteresting, annoying and lacked chemistry. Alongside provided with some bad dialogue which made it difficult to really believe a single word from them.
While Shi Fu never outright told him that it was his destiny to harness the scroll's knowledge, from Tai Lung's perspective, the Dragon Scroll was to be his all-end-all-of-greatness. If he couldn't have that then he couldn't be great, he couldn't fulfil his destiny.
In the aftermath of the battle, Oogway appears to Po and reveals that Po's journey has come full circle; Oogway reveals that he specifically chose Po as the Dragon Warrior because he is a descendant of the ancient pandas who helped him centuries ago and that Po is the physical embodiment of the Yin and Yang, the right ...
Consequently, Tai Lung, voiced by Ian McShane, returns in the fourth film, marking his first appearance in the franchise since Po vanquished him to the Spirit Realm in the first movie.
Amazed at his own strength, Po battled Tai Lung once more, developing his own style by using his perceived weaknesses as his greatest strengths, eventually sending Tai Lung rolling down the road and crashing into another building.
Soon after the events kf kfp2, Po and Tigress had a long, heart to heart talk about how much they care about one another and this led them to eventually begin dating. They kept it a secret from the others, not wanting this to get awkward seeing as how they all live, train and work together.
But no matter what you do, that seed will grow to be a peach tree. You may wish for an apple or an orange, but you will get a peach. Shifu : But a peach cannot defeat Tai Lung! Oogway : [folding dirt over the peach pit] Maybe it *can*, if you are willing to guide it, to nurture it.
Tigress' skills have been relatively uneven since she's been defeated by the likes of Shen and Kai but has always bested Po. That mainly comes down to Po not really wanting to hurt Tigress, but it's also clear she's a cut above the rest based on pure skill.
The point is, Tigress obviously hates Tai Lung. You could interpret it as reaction to what he did to Shifu, or what he did to her from the start. Even if we take the despair from his character, you still don't have a warm and nice person. … animal.
