Echo is one of the very few deaf super heroines and Native Americans, the one-time lover of Daredevil, the first person to take the name and guise of Ronin and a member of the New Avengers.
Maya is sent by the Kingpin to prove Matt Murdock's weakness, telling her that Matt believes Fisk is a bad person and that she is the only way to prove him wrong. As Maya believes Fisk, it would not appear to be a lie when she tells Matt. Murdock and Maya soon fall in love.
Echo made her official debut in Daredevil (1998) #9, where she met and fell in love with Matt Murdock. Maya didn't know that Murdock was Daredevil, who Kingpin told her had killed her father.
After forming Nelson & Murdock, Foggy hired Karen Page to be their secretary. Both Matt and Foggy were instantly smitten with the beautiful young woman. Karen and Matt fell in love, but his secret life as Daredevil always came between them.

Karen Page & Daredevil's Romance Grew Throughout Marvel Television's Daredevil Series. Perhaps Matt Murdock's most prominent romantic interest throughout all three seasons of Daredevil was Deborah Ann Woll's Karen Page.
After they succeeded, Black Cat was hired by the same person who framed her to rob Daredevil. To gain his trust, she seduced him, kissing him on a rooftop as Spider-Man watched, killing any remaining romance.
Daredevil's relationships tend to end in tragedy. His first real love interest was Karen Page, the secretary at his law firm. While their relationship had its ups and downs, Karen was tragically killed by Bullseye, who also killed another one of his girlfriends, the lethal assassin Elektra.
Jackie Murdock was the son of Matt Murdock, the vigilante known as Daredevil and mayor of San Francisco, who had been born apparently without a trace of his father's super powers. Shortly after Jackie's birth, Matt retired from his super hero career.

In Echo, more of the teenager's past is revealed as she goes on a journey of self-discovery, from the adoptive daughter of Kingpin, and one of his most trusted allies, to her estranged Choctaw family in Oklahoma.
Sometime after being cursed, Echo spied a young man, Narcissus, while he was out hunting deer with his companions. She immediately fell in love with him and, infatuated, followed quietly.
Daredevil and Echo have a romantic relationship in Marvel Comics. Vincent D'Onofrio reprises his role as crime lord Wilson Fisk/Kingpin — the surrogate uncle of Maya whom she shoots in the final moments of Hawkeye after she discovers that he caused her father's death.
Maya Lopez, aka Echo, is an anti-hero. She cannot be considered a classical superhero due to her extreme anger and bloodlust. Superheros aren't conventionally associated with such an extreme desire for vengeance. However, once Maya has made her peace with her family, she can no longer be considered a villain.
Netflix's Daredevil TV series starring Cox put a different spin on the character of Karen Page, who was played by Deborah Ann Woll. Although Matt and Karen did enter a romantic relationship in the show, they broke up in Season 2 after Matt's old flame Elektra, another iconic Marvel character, came back into his life.

Still in love with Matt, she found solace in the arms of her agent Phil Hichock, who had secretly harbored feelings towards her, while Daredevil met superheroine Black Widow. However, just after Phil proposed to Karen, she simply returned to Matt, to become his fiancée.
Murdock delivered the baby to the Black Widow, leaving her in the heroine's care for a time. When Black Widow tried returning the baby to Daredevil, he tossed the baby off a roof to kill it, under the influence of a strange drug. Black Widow rescued the baby and took it into her care.
Claire Temple previously slept with Daredevil, and Daredevil has also slept with Elektra and dated Karen Page (who also kinda dated Daredevil's sidekick Foggy Nelson, who is also in Defenders played by Elden Henson).
In Daredevil #2 (2022) we learned that these plans included a wedding ceremony between Matt and Elektra. This week, in Daredevil #4 (2022), that wedding took place, and it was action-packed. Matt and Elektra journey to a cave where the souls of the Hand's dead warriors lay, as foretold by the Fist's ancient scriptures.
This isn't an accident. Maya Lopez (Alaqua Cox) is a supporting character in the Daredevil comics, and Daredevil even cameos in Echo as Disney builds hype for the character's grand return in the upcoming series Daredevil: Born Again.
