Smile 2 is confirmed, with the sequel to Smile being announced by Paramount in April 2023. While the runaway success of Smile made a sequel feel inevitable in the eyes of many viewers, a follow-up wasn't always a certainty.
Her mind shut down and gave her a false happy ending. That is what the Smile ending explained. Forget about Rose leaving and believing she had escaped her fate. The trick here was making the audience believe she had won, and then pulling back the curtains and revealing she never escaped and was doomed.

Very scary horror. This is an extremely scary, graphic horror movie that should not be taken lightly. I have seen my fair share of horror movies over the years but this one definitely has a different feel to it. It is chilling, unnerving, and very difficult to watch sometimes.
Even though Rose did everything she was supposed to do — that we're supposed to do to process our own trauma — the monster still won. The cycle will continue. Smile writer-director Parker Finn characterizes the two endings of his film as an attempt to get ahead of audiences' expectations.

For example, Smile Tapes, is that real or fictional? Well it's not really. Analog horror just loves to touch in real-life situations just to make u believe it's real, just like how horror movies always claim “based on true stories”. That's just strategy to let people be convinced that it is.
The ending of the film is particularly sad since it proves that as soon as Joel agrees to help Rose figure out what's happening, he isn't able to extract himself from her, and he will never break free.
Joel arrives in time to see Rose pouring gasoline on herself and then lighting a match. The chilling final shot of Smile zooms into Joel's eye as he watches her burning to death. With Rose dying in a horrifying way, it continues the cycle and secures Joel as its next victim.
There, the evil entity of Smile takes the shape of Rose's mother and forces her to relieve the moment that defined her destiny. As it turns out, Rose found her mother when the woman was still alive. However, instead of calling for help, Rose ran away, condemning her mother to die alone.
The movie focuses on mental health and trauma and it does that very well. Not for the easily rattled, lots of gore and jump-scares. I would not recommend for kids.

Despite the happy-sounding title, the movie Smile is not for children. It is a very graphic horror movie that shows several mutilated bodies in all their gory detail.
"The Black Phone" is a tense and creepy horror movie, with a good ghost story. The character "The Grabber", performed by Ethan Hawke, is scary and his masks are frightening. The acting of the cast is top-notch. Fortunately, the screenplay does not show any scene of child abuse and is not too graphic.
7/10, this is the rating I'd give if I hadn't watched a lot of horrors so that's what I'm sticking with, it reminds me so much of The Ring and has a lot of the orthodox methods other horror movies used to incite fear. So nothing groundbreaking, still, for the most part they are stilly effective.
Smile clearly wants the audience to see the connection between Rose's curse and mental illness. Throughout the movie, characters use therapy buzzwords and often suggest that Rose's mental state is a result of her genetics and past trauma.
Desperate to figure things out, Rose seeks out her ex-boyfriend, police officer Joel (Kyle Gallner), who is the only one willing to really listen to her.
Rose begins experiencing hallucinations induced by the demon. Shortly after, she has trouble finding her cat, Mustache, and its tragic fate is revealed during her nephew's birthday party. The boy opens Rose's present to discover her cat's dead body.
