Anakin Skywalker Despite being trained by Obi-Wan Kenobi, a Jedi who generally played by the book, Anakin took after Qui-Gon Jinn in his refusal to obey the rules of the Jedi Order.
He was a wise and well-respected member of the Jedi Order, and was offered a seat on the Jedi Council, but chose to reject and follow his own path. Adhering to a philosophy centered around the Living Force, Jinn strove to follow the will of the Force even when his actions conflicted with the wishes of the High Council.

Why Qui-Gon Jinn Was Palpatine's Greatest Threat. Unlike Yoda and the Jedi High Council, Qui-Gon Jinn was only concerned about the will of the Force. Therefore, Palpatine needed Qui-Gonn out of the way because he was better connected to the Force than the other Jedi.
It is my firm belief that when Qui-Gon kneels while separated from Darth Maul by a shield, he is not merely meditating as others before me have posited. Rather, he is connecting with the Force to turn the tide of the battle of Naboo.
Qui-Gon was ultimately defeated by a move that can only be done with a double-bladed lightsaber as Darth Maul used the handle of the weapon, striking Qui-Gon physically on the chin, stunning him for just long enough to deliver the killing blow.

Had Qui-Gon lived, however, he would have become the father-figure Anakin so desperately needed. The bond between Qui-Gon and Anakin would have been far greater than simply master and apprentice; they'd practically have been father and son.

While Vader had his weaknesses, including vulnerability to electricity, characters like Emperor Palpatine, Mace Windu, Yoda, and Obi-Wan Kenobi all had the potential to defeat him in battle.
Unfortunately, he only knew him for a few days, but Anakin still loved Qui-Gon as he loved Obi-Wan. Vader, on the other hand, likely despised Qui-Gon and blamed him for all the suffering he went through.
Around 44 BBY, Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn was thought of as a Gray Jedi by some members of the Order for his frequent opposition to their demands. One group of renegade Jedi described themselves as "gray" even though they held to the same views as the Jedi Council on the subject of the dark side.
The part about being born of no father is what ultimately convinced Qui-Gon that Anakin was the Chosen One, because Anakin's mother Shmi Skywalker had told Qui-Gon that Anakin was born through immaculate conception.
Qui-Gon Jinn was far from a powerful Jedi Master when it came to fighting. He couldn't even defeat a single Sith Lord's apprentice. He was also the Jedi Master who put too much trust in Anakin Skywalker as his apprentice, which was a proven disaster.
Though Palpatine regarded Vader with the caution common in a Sith Lord to their apprentice, he nevertheless entrusted much of his plan to Vader's abilities. He even referred to the broken man as his friend on numerous occasions, though he still found himself betrayed by his apprentice during Return of the Jedi.
Although Qui-Gon never felt close with him, Dooku was quite fond of his former pupil, and Jinn's death on Naboo devastated him. The 2012 Legends novel Darth Plagueis showed Dooku's gradual fall to the dark side in detail, and his feelings on the death of Qui-Gon contributed to this fall from grace.
