The plot is so thin and unexciting - Prince Charming wants to takeover the throne while Shrek wants to get a young (King) Arthur to replace him as next in line to the throne. You never really feel any interest in what is happening or what will happen to the characters because you know exactly whats going to happen.
In addition to the violent scenes mentioned above, there are some scenes in this movie that could scare or disturb children under five. For example: Shrek and Donkey meet an angry and scary dragon.

"Shrek Forever After" isn't as good as those first two. But it's a big step back in the right direction. The story begins with Shrek getting used to being a father. He loves Fiona and the kids, but he misses his old life as a menacing ogre.
He is very opprobrious, despicable and abhorrent, so he loathes creatures of any kind and sought to relocate the fairytale creatures to Shrek's swamp. He attempts to cut a deal with Shrek by promising to remove the fairy tale creatures from his swamp if Shrek could bring Fiona to him, as he wanted to marry her.
After one quick Google search, we can say that adult Fiona has been in the tower for a little over 23 years. Add that on poor Fiona's age when she was first locked up and we find out that she's somewhere around 30.
