She finds it hard to quit thinking about the boy from District 1 and realizes it's because he was her first true kill, the first person she took action against knowing that her strike would kill him. It bothers her to think of his friends and family and how she's hurt them, how maybe they want revenge upon her.

It's only implied that they get it on via snuggling and other affectionate acts in close quarters — but if you have read the book, they really imply that they took their relationship to the next level.
When Peeta talks about how he hopes someone else will kill Thresh, Katniss starts to cry because she doesn't want anyone else to die, which is unacceptable from a tribute in the Hunger Games. Instead, she disguises her tears as homesickness.
Katniss spends the rest of the day crying on her bed. She believes that the Gamemakers will punish her for what she's done, that they'll make her an Avox and cut out her tongue. She imagines all of the possible scenarios, but is most fearful that the Capitol people will go after Prim and her mother.
Katniss has great hunting prowess, particularly with the bow and arrow, something that will serve her well in the chapters to come. Katniss is also skilled at explaining away her emotions.

Snow can't stand to see a young woman betray a young man's affection—his view of what happened 65 years ago. And so he takes out his old, festering wound on Katniss.
Katniss's next most significant relationship at the start of the series is her friendship with Gale Hawthorne. Gale is her best friend, and he loves Katniss very much. He wants her to run away with him but Katniss is too loyal to her mother and sister to ever leave.
