Picard Takes Place 29 Years After The Events Of TNG The first season of Star Trek: Picard was shown to take place in the distant year 2399, which would place it exactly 29 years after the conclusion of Star Trek: The Next Generation in 2370.

Unknown to Chakotay however, Montgomery mentioned to Janeway the relationship wasn't being treated as her peers' relationships were because she and Chakotay were not married.
