In the film, Pandora is depicted as being located in the Alpha Centauri A system, 4.37 ly from Earth. It is one of the many natural satellites orbiting the gas giant Polyphemus, named for the Polyphemus of Greek mythology.
Because it's set so far in the future, humans have improved their ability to space travel, which is fortunate, because Pandora is a reported 4.37 light years away, as the film depicts it being in the Alpha Centauri A system.

Will Avatar ever go to Earth?
It has been stated that Earth will be featured in both Avatar 4 and Avatar 5, although it is hinted that neither movie will actually have Earth as the main setting. Earth is heavily referenced in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.
Lifespan. Although lifespan data is incomplete, it is estimated Na'vi live 30% longer than the average human. Once born, Na'vi children mature more rapidly than humans.
They briefly touch on this in the movie but I wish they elaborated a bit more on it. Humans can last 10 seconds breathing na'vi air, but na'vi can breathe human air for much longer than that but they still at some point need a mask to help them breathe regular human air.
Pandora's atmosphere is a mix of nitrogen, oxygen, carbon dioxide, xenon, methane, ammonia and hydrogen sulfide, the latter three of which are unbreathable for humans, who wear Exo-Packs when outside their buildings or vehicles.
Using their capability of advanced genetic engineering, humans develop "Avatar" hybrid bodies from genetically distinct modified-human DNA and Na'vi alien genetic material. Through psionics, genetically matched humans are then mind-linked to these "Avatars" for remote control operation.
The fully grown avatar is much closer in appearance to the long-limbed Na'vi than to a human. Typical adult size ranges from nine to ten feet (2.75 to 3.0m) tall with blue skin, bioluminescent markings and large eyes with golden irises.
After learning that his identical twin brother Tom has died, Jake agrees to replace him in the RDA's Avatar Program on Pandora, where humans remotely control human/Na'vi hybrids to safely navigate the planet.
Plot. In 2154, Earth suffers from resource exhaustion and ecological collapse. The Resources Development Administration (RDA) mines the valuable mineral unobtanium on Pandora, a lush habitable moon of Polyphemus, a gas giant in the Alpha Centauri star system.
Geologists concur that the floating mountains of Pandora are an implausible element of the movie. Some argue that Pandora's lack of gravity and magnetic forces support these structures, and the luminous aurora in the movie shield the Na'vi from the intense magnetic radiation.
In Avatar, the Na'vi are an indigenous species that live on Pandora. They are humanoid in appearance and are 9 to 10 feet (2.7 to 3.0 m) tall, having pairs of eyes, ears, arms, legs and feet like humans, as well as a nose, a mouth, and expressions recognizable to humans.
Pandora is the name of the planet in which Borderlands takes place. The day on Pandora is 90 hours long, and it takes 10 Earth years to orbit it's sun.

No planet in our solar system except Earth has air that any human can breathe regardless of their nationality. The only other rocky planets that have atmospheres at all are Venus and Mars and both of those atmospheres are more than 95% CO2.
The Na'vi are monogamous creatures that mate for life. Na'vi reproduction is similar to that of placental mammals on Earth. A Na'vi female will typically produce from one to ten offspring, often spaced widely apart in time. Na'vi females have two breasts, and nurse their infants for up to four months.
Neteyam te Suli Tsyeyk'itan, or Neteyam, is a major character in the Avatar franchise, serving as one of the main characters in Avatar: The Way of Water. He is the 15-year-old eldest son of Jake Sully and Neytiri, who is also the older brother of Lo'ak, Tuktirey, and Kiri.
In Cameron's script she's introduced with the descriptor "in human age she would be 18," but that raises as many questions as it answers. As with the math that leads to Jake being 28, Neytiri's birth in the Earth calendar year 2136 and the film's setting in 2154 add up to make her 18, but that's by Earth standards.
