The Motion Picture Association of America graded the Barbie movie with a PG-13 rating for “brief language” and “suggestive references.” That cautionary disclaimer is not surprising and likely appreciated by parents.
While the movie is given credit for including a gay character, he's largely made fun of and glossed over as an accessory to the Barbies. With a lack of queer people in the "real world" of this movie, families with two queer dads seeing this movie only have Allan – a character largely joked about – as a portrayal.

There are scenes of physical fighting involving hitting, kicking, and shoving. Male characters have a “war” in which sports equipment is used in place of weapons.

The only nudity in Barbie Movie is shirtless Kens. There is no sex or real romance happening in Barbie Movie either. I know I heard of a “sex scene” between Barbie and Ken but this is nowhere in the final cut. There are verbal sexual double entendres and jokes that may go over younger kids' heads.

It sounds odd to those who think there's some kind of an age limit on dolls and toys, but it's really not. Of course! Although many people may feel this is odd, that is just their opinion. You playing with dolls at 18 is a lot better than doing drugs or anything else like that.
No one is ever too old for dolls. I am 51 and have collected dolls for nearly 30 years. I played with them until I was 13 and then, like most other people that age, was told that I should be 'too old' for them. I put my dolls away, reluctantly, but still noticed and liked dolls.
If a child still wants to play with toys as they move into adolescence, it is totally normal and to be celebrated! Unless a child's play is affecting or replacing real-life friendships, there is no need to worry.
