As harrowing and heartbreaking as this movie is it's also hard to imagine that the Brandon Teena story is true, But its also a great movie. I cried for about half an hour after I watched it. Yes the sex scenes are graphic and the murder and gang rape are hard to watch and unsettling, but thats why its rated R.
There is a brutal sexual assault, a graphic murder, and a depiction of an emotionally abusive family. There are several non-violent sex scenes as well, involving the main character, a female-to-male transsexual.

The entire point of the show is to mock superhero media. It's a satire. And obviously kids shouldn't be watching it. The body count's high and the gore is extreme, with heads being blown up, jaws and faces being ripped off, and lots of blood, it's gruesome.
I'd recommend doing a deeper dive to decide if it's ok for your kids, but I'd advise to watch it with them and even then don't shown it to anyone under the age of 14-16. The show has a captivating and interesting premise, however the overwhelming intensity of violence, sex, and language ruined it.
