Some dromaeosaurs have the word 'raptor' in their names, such as Velociraptor, Bambiraptor and Utahraptor. But there are many others that don't, including Deinonychus and Achillobator. That's why it's misleading to call them all raptors. Deinonychus was a close relative of Velociraptor.
Deinonychus, (genus Deinonychus), long-clawed carnivorous dinosaurs that flourished in western North America during the Early Cretaceous Period (145.5 million to 99.6 million years ago). A member of the dromaeosaur group, Deinonychus was bipedal, walking on two legs, as did all theropod dinosaurs.
In addition to being the largest, Utahraptor is also the oldest known dromaeosaurid. It closely resembles Deinonychus except for the large, much more blade-like claws on its hand.
It contains a single species, Utahraptor ostrommaysi, which is the largest-known member of the family Dromaeosauridae, measuring about 5–6 metres (16–20 ft) long and weighing around 250–350 kilograms (550–770 lb).
Despite their name, Crichton heavily based the Velociraptors on the larger Deinonychus, and this was carried over into the films. The on-screen raptors were created using several production methods, including animatronics by Stan Winston and CGI by Industrial Light & Magic (ILM).
In addition to larger dinos, this small carnivore likely also snacked on little lizards, mammals, dino eggs, and baby dinosaurs. It might've even eaten other baby Velociraptors.

They were at least at the same level of intelligence as birds. This can be seen with its stereo-vision, grasping fingers, and opposable thumb, as Deinonychus grappled with its prey, indicating a high level of coordination.

Deinonychus lived more than 100 million years ago during the early part of the period of Earth's history known as the Cretaceous period. Remains of the dinosaur have been found in what is now western North America.
They did not co-exist in the same time period. Allosaurs lived first, in the Late Jurassic period, 155–146 million years ago. The most famous species is Allosaurus fragilis (discovered in 1877), but there are others that were discovered in subsequent finds as recent as the late 20th century.
Utahraptor ostrommaysi was then named for the American paleontologist J. Ostrom from Yale University. Utahraptor is famous for its raptorial, sickle claw, and may have been the biggest raptor that ever lived. Utahraptor lived well before some of its smaller but more famous raptor cousins like Velociraptor.
The same principle would apply to any dinosaurs that drank out of watering holes, even in the middle of the desert — meaning that the likes of Utahraptor and Velociraptor could probably hold their own in the water as well.

Given the chance, this predator likely wouldn't have hunted humans, either. Despite the famous fossilization of a battle to the death between a Velociraptor and a much-larger Protoceratops, paleontologists believe that Velociraptors mainly preyed on small mammals and reptiles.
Acheroraptor lived 67 million to 66 million years ago in western North America, making it the youngest known member of the raptor family, known as dromaeosaurids. It was about three metres long, weighed in at about 40 kilograms-relatively large for a raptor-and was likely covered in feathers.
