Can Gremlins turn back into Mogwai?
As the goddess of creation, Nuwa has the ability to restore gremlins to their Mogwai form, which she does multiple times during Secrets of the Mogwai's first season.
Gizmo, also referred to as "Giz" by Billy Peltzer, is the main protagonist of the Gremlins franchise. He is a Mogwai who is the pet of Billy. He doesn't seem to have a single mean bone in his body, making him an Eternal, or Mogwai who refuses to be evil.
The new PG-13 rating was implemented quickly. The first film to be released with a PG-13 rating came out later that very summer when Red Dawn hit theaters on August 10, 1984. You can watch all of Gremlins in its technically PG-rated glory when it airs on SYFY.
One report describes Gremlins as "in general too disturbing for children and [playing] far too highly with childish fears and insecurities while having fun with the adults". "Gremlins 2: The New Batch" is the 1990 sequel to the 1984 box office hit "Gremlins" which is one of my all-time favorite movies. The sequel is not as good as the original, but its not bad either. Here the filmakers did something different. They tried to make this one more of a comedy than the original.

Stripe, later reincarnated as Mohawk, is the main antagonist of the Gremlins franchise. While Gizmo the fearless warrior's tribe was shown (as well has how he ended up among mankind), it was never revealed how he was actually made.
Stripe is the primary antagonist in the first "Gremlins" film. He is named after the white mohawk stripe on his head and is identifiable by his malicious and cunning nature. Stripe leads the other gremlins in causing chaos and destruction.
What I have mostly been referring to as “gremlins” are really called Mogwai. This is the form we see Gizmo as throughout the film. Mogwai are the cute, cuddly, fuzzy forms. It is what happens if you feed them after midnight where they have earned their name gremlins!

Violence & Gore (20) Tons of Gremlins are killed and maimed in violent and gruesome ways. The blood is green, but it still might be too much for the squeamish or easily nauseous. Billy's mother stabs a gremlin with a butcher knife multiple times.
Gizmo is nothing but happy to see his old friend again. Of course, Gizmo gets wet once more, and the new Mogwai again transform into gremlins. These creatures also torture Gizmo, though in both films they never try to kill him, even though they have no problem murdering humans.
Then Gizmo became much more assertive than he was in the first movie because, as Billy said, "they pushed him too far." As one of the first generation of mogwai, Gizmo is exceptionally long-lived and without having a speck of hatred in him, unlike the Mogwai that were spawned from him.
In 2000, Hasbro and Tiger Electronics partnered with Warner Bros., and made a Gizmo Furby that is a Spinoff of the popular Furby Robotic Toys by Tiger. Released in 2000 as a Limited Edition Furby, the Gizmo Furby has only 250,000 units in existance, and sold well.
