He finds Deckard, who tells him that he is the father of Rachael's child and scrambled the birth records to protect the child's identity; Deckard left the child in the custody of the replicant freedom movement. Luv kills Joshi and tracks K to Las Vegas. She kidnaps Deckard, destroys Joi, and leaves K to die.
Instead of killing Deckard, K saves him from Luv and reunites him with his daughter, getting mortally wounded in the process. Whether this action is enough to make K human or give him a soul is entirely up to the viewer.
In the final moments of the film, K collapses in the snow and dies from his wounds sustained in battle, but not before fulfilling his mission and revealing to Deckard the truth about his own past. The film ends with Deckard reuniting with his long-lost daughter, Ana Stelline, in a poignant and emotional scene.
Because of this memory, K became convinced that he was Rachael and Deckard's child, but was eventually informed by Freysa that he was not and that the child was female. With this revelation, K soon determined that Stelline was the child. K took Deckard to Stelline's lab as she interacted with a snowfall hologram.
However, he later learns that, even if the memory is real, it was not his own but Dr Ana Stelline's. Through her work, Dr Stelline shared her memory with K, and this allowed him to understand what it was like to walk in her shoes, but most importantly, to believe himself a free, loved replicant.
Later at K's apartment, he informed Joi of his conclusion that his memory was indeed real. This overjoyed her, as she always believed him to be special, insisting that he now be called "Joe." Unsure, K sought further information and Joi suggested finding the one responsible for creating memories for replicants.
During the final fight with K, after subduing him, she smugly kissed him and retorted "I am the best one!", as if trying to prove her superiority over not just K, but all other replicants, further hinting at her deep-seated insecurities that she kept well-hidden.
Deckard's eyes glow briefly in one scene, which was used in the film to subtly suggest his replicant identity. However, Ford denies this was an intentional effect and he may have caught some of the light intended to fall on Sean Young's eyes.
This is when she slices his eyes with her katana, permanently blinding him. While Elle manages to escape with her life and leave Los Angeles for parts unknown, her actions may have actually motivated Wallace Jr. to become the ruthless CEO he is in Blade Runner 2049.
Replicant KD6-3.7 was "born" sometime during the mid-late 2030's through Wallace Corporation and was implanted with false memories to keep him in bay before immediately putting him through intense training before finally becoming a Blade Runner for The Los Angeles Police Department.
Suddenly, they all came under fire from missiles, one so close to K that it blew him back into his own spinner. Unbeknownst to K, Luv had been tracking him in hopes of K locating the child. She saved his life so that he could continue his search for the replicant child.
His perfect match would disobey her programming to help him. Regardless of your opinions on the above, I do think that the movie clearly says that Joi's love for K was programmed/created by a corporation. But he loves her back.
In both cases, Luv's unexpectedly attacked by a Replicant and drowned while trying to uncover a Replicant secret for her creator to exploit. The only difference is that Luv wasn't killed the first time. Instead, that moment teased her death in Blade Runner's official film sequel, Blade Runner 2049.
Much like the original, Blade Runner 2049 became a cult hit but failed to thrive financially due to pacing issues, murky stakes and zero fun factor. Ridley Scott followed up the tremendous success of his science fiction horror film Alien with his cyber-noir thriller Blade Runner.
In the movie, K tells Joshi, his boss, that beings that are born have souls, and that he has never retired anything with a soul before. K's definition of what it means to be human involves the existence of the soul. Since he was never born of woman, he has accepted the idea that he does not have one.
The big twist in the final act of the movie is that K isn't the son of Deckard and Rachael at all, but just another cog in the machine that might lead to the child's discovery.
Her name is Joi and she is an illusion in every sense, right down to her holographic countenance made up of ones and zeroes. But in the world of Blade Runner 2049, nobody is perfect, and she is both the fantasy and reality of Ridley Scott's haunted future made flesh. Digitally speaking, of course.
Then we are introduced to Luv for the first time, and K instantly recognizes her as a replicant. K's ability to spot a replicant on sight is something that Deckard could not do.
Ana Stelline (Carla Juri), who is Deckard and Rachael's daughter but has no idea of this and now works as the world's best memory fabricator. We don't know if she planted that memory in only K's brain or in the brains of hundreds of replicants, hoping one of them would follow this message in a bottle. Maybe others did.
Blade Runner 2049's Joi is an A.I. designed by the Wallace Corporation to cater to the desires of customers, telling them what to want to hear. K's Joi is depicted in this way, providing loving warmth when he returns home and when he learns he's might have been born from a replicant, she encourages his wish.
When K was meeting with Ana and she confirms for him that the memory was real and that it happened, K shows his first bout of strong emotion in the movie by yelling god damn it and storming out.
Wallace himself wanted to discover the secret to reproduction in replicants in order to support interstellar colonization, and to this end he sent Luv, now his assistant, to steal Rachael's remains from the LAPD headquarters and follow K to find Rachael's child.
Furthermore, Deckard was human, while Rachael was a replicant, so if they only had one child it would have been half human half replicant, but they actually had twins(from the same egg), one of them being 99% human and the other one 99% replicant.
