Rocky is about boxing and The Karate Kid is obviously about karate, and while there are some exhibition fights where the two sports overlap, it would be hard to maintain each series' style of fighting in a crossover movie.

Is Karate Kid fighting realistic?
While overall it's not realistic, you have to bear in mind none of the primary cast had ANY martial arts training prior to the movie. Ralph Macchio, who played Daniel, had just 3 weeks to learn the fight choreography.
