In The Tommyknockers, the protagonist passes through Derry where he swears he sees a clown watching him from the sewers, though he waves this off as a hallucination. Pennywise, while not seen directly, is also mentioned in both Dreamcatcher and 11/22/63, which have parts that take place in Derry.

Dreamcatcher (2001)
Gray to the remains of the town's water storage Standpipe. The tower in long gone, demolished at the climax of It, but in its place is a plaque memorializing some of the town's victims. Spraypainted across the memorial is the graffiti "Pennywise Lives."
As stated above, IT is deceased but in Stephen King's novel Dreamcatcher, Jonesy arrives at the Derry stand-pipe and spray painted there is "Pennywise Lives!" over the tribute to The Loser's Club.

Derry also appears in Dreamcatcher. JERUSALEM'S LOT ('SALEM'S LOT): This was the setting for the novel 'Salem's Lot. Father Callahan talks about it in the final three Dark Tower novels. It is also mentioned in Dreamcatcher.
Pennywise doesn't make another appearance in King's books until Insomnia in 1994. Insomnia takes place in Derry, Maine where, as we all know, Pennywise loves to hunt. In Insomnia we don't so much as see Pennywise as notice that the deadlights appear again to try and lure the main character to his death.
It can manipulate weak-willed people, making them indifferent to the horrific events that unfold, or even serve as accomplices. In the novel, It claims that its true name is Robert "Bob" Gray, but decided to be named “It”. Throughout the book, It is generally referred to as male, usually appearing as Pennywise.
In Insomnia, set in Derry, the same as It, the book references the events of Pennywise's first defeat. Furthermore, in The Tommyknockers, Tommy claims to have seen a “clown with shiny silver dollars for eyes,” alluding to Pennywise.
The reveal of Pennywise's pregnancy may have been an essential moment in the It book ending, but there's a simple reason it was never shown on the screen.
The Boogeyman's pleasure in instilling fear in his victims before killing them recalls Pennywise/IT's similar pleasure in terrorizing his prey. It is not known, however, whether the modus operandi of the two monsters are somehow connected.
Gray is the main antagonist of Stephen King's 2001 novel Dreamcatcher, and its 2003 live-action film adaptation of the same name. He is the alien commander of the Byrus species and he plans to infect the entire world. Whilst possessing Jonesy, he was portrayed by Damian Lewis.
In their final battle, the Losers' Club was able to kill Pennywise by reducing him to a child-like form as they overcame their fears. In the moments before Pennywise died, his fear is reminiscent of Georgie's own, therefore closing the cyclical nature of Pennywise's murders.
Stephen King's IT introduced readers to a one-of-a-kind creature that can take any form, the most common one being Pennywise the Dancing Clown, and as menacing as it is, this creature has one big enemy it's truly scared of: Maturin, the turtle.
We can thereby conclude that in It Chapter Two that Bob Gray was a 19th century clown (or thereabouts) in a traveling circus who made the mistake of coming to Derry. Like how It can become Beverly's father to torment her, It often becomes Pennywise, delighting in the laughter and screams of children.
In the novel, It's origins are nebulous. He took the form of a clown most frequently, Mr. Bob Gray or Pennywise, but his true form is an ancient eldritch entity from another universe who landed in the town that would become Derry by way of an asteroid and first awoke in 1715.
Duddits uses his powers to force Henry and Jonesy into a place in which Mr. Grey, inside of Jonesy, will be vulnerable; he and Henry kill Mr. Grey. As Henry and Jonesy make their way back to their original bodies they find that Duddits has died from the combination of overusing his powers and leukemia.
Kersh tells Beverly she's the daughter of a carnival worker who happens to look just like Pennywise. As explained in Stephen King's IT, this man is Bob Gray — and IT, that pesky inter-dimensional force of evil, stole his likeness. For 85-year-old Gregson, the character of Mrs. Kersh was initially even more mystifying.
Georgie Elmer Denbrough is a fictional character created by Stephen King from his 1986 epic horror novel It. Georgie is the younger brother of Bill Denbrough, and falls prey to Pennywise the Clown. He is used by Pennywise to taunt Bill throughout the novel.
But, the film makes clear, It (sometimes written as “IT”) isn't just a clown. Oh no. As detailed in King's novel, he's an ancient, cosmic being, described in the novel as an “Eater of Worlds”, who is able to adopt a variety of nasty guises.
If you want to get technical, It is an alien, but It's origin goes well beyond that. It is actually an ancient cosmic deity. A god of destruction, not just of our world, but of multiple worlds and even multiple universes.
Pennywise might be one of the most singularly horrifying creations in King's expansive canon, but getting bullied to death is a really tough look for the self-described “eater of worlds” who spent centuries terrorizing and devouring Derry's inhabitants.
The backstory of Pennywise is tied to an ancient cosmic entity referred to as the "It" or the "Eater of Worlds." This entity is from another dimension and has existed for an extremely long time. It comes to Earth approximately every 27 years to prey on the children of Derry.
