Well, the answer may be surprising. Recently it has come to light that Sabine is a descendant of Tarre Vizsla™, the very first Mandalorian Jedi. Not to mention his uniquely styled lightsaber, the Darksaber, is now in her possession.
A human female, Sabine Wren was born on the planet Mandalore in 21 BBY into Clan Wren of House Vizsla. Her mother Ursa was a member of Death Watch during a time when Mandalore had fallen into chaos after the collapse of the New Mandalorian government, near the end of the Clone Wars.
History. The daughter of Ursa and Alrich Wren, Sabine Wren and her brother, Tristan, were raised to appreciate both fine art and the art of combat. In her youth, Sabine enrolled as a cadet at the Imperial Academy of Mandalore.
Clan Wren is among the most storied of Mandalorian warrior families. Part of House Vizsla, Clan Wren aligned with the Empire and Gar Saxon under duress. The clan broke ties with the Empire, however, following a reconciliation between leader Ursa Wren and her daughter Sabine.

Her mother Ursa Wren was also a Nite Owl, the group of Mandalorians who fight under Bo-Katan's command. It makes sense, then, that Sabine is linked to both Bo-Katan and the Darksaber, but her connection with each of them goes even deeper than just family ties.
Ezra Bridger and Sabine Wren's relationship was one of the main aspects of Star Wars Rebels. Though they have their fights, Ezra and Sabine are best friends and have a relationship built on trust, possibly the first friendship between a Mandalorian and a Jedi.

Originally, Ketsu was blood sisters with Sabine, nearly family. They were best friends, even joining each other at the Imperial Academy until they both got fed up with the Empire, both resolving to become bounty hunters, join the Black Sun, and get off Mandalore. Until Ketsu got greedy and left her for dead.
Trivia. Sabine is at least two years older than Ezra. Throughout the show they are fourteen and sixteen, fifteen and seventeen, seventeen and nineteen, nineteen and twenty one. Several consider Sabine and Ezra as a romantic couple while others consider it strictly platonic.
During “Rebels,” Ezra and Sabine Wren developed a close relationship that that borderlined on something more romantic (having started as Ezra's one-sided crush on Sabine). Sabine also held onto Ezra's lightsaber and wields it in “Ahsoka.” Eman Esfandi plays Ezra in the new series.
Ezra's and Hera's relationship is a strong friendship and one of the main relationships of Star Wars Rebels. It is one of the parent/child-like relationships in the series (including Sabine and Kanan and Kanan and Ezra). The twi'lek woman mentored Ezra as much as Kanan and has taught him to be a better person.
Ezra and Sabine were very close friends due to being the youngest members of the Ghost crew. Because of his younger age, Sabine acts as an older sister to Ezra, due to the fact that she has her own younger brother and is fiercely protective of him.
The characters may have only kissed on screen in the final season, but Hera called Kanan "love" throughout the run. Conversely, Ezra's flirtatious advances were dismissed and almost mocked by Sabine. Yet, the two became incredibly close during their time fighting for the Rebellion.
For my wife and I, one of the hardest things to connect with in these first two episodes, was the Sabine/Ahsoka relationship. We're presented with two people who have broken up - not romantically, but as friends, as master/apprentice, etc - and it feels like something we should care about.
Sabine Has Retreated From Her Mandalorian Heritage After So Much Loss. Sabine Wren lost her family's support once when she initially joined the Rebellion, but then made up with them after redeeming herself and fighting for Mandalore once more.
