There are no known disadvantages to the game. Even your companions will not respond if you use Unforgivable Curses in their presence. Just because you learn this curse doesn't mean you have to use it. There are “good” wizards in the Harry Potter universe, who have mastered Crucio but would never use it.
Crucio causes someone immense pain, Imperio controls them, and Avada Kedavra kills. These spells are illegal to use in the world of Hogwarts Legacy, but that doesn't mean you can't have them at your disposal if you want to.
The curse spells are tied to Sebastians quest line, if you turn it down and still get the next ones then you can, otherwise nope. I would accept crucio. it has no negative impact on your game. They make it seem serious, but it is not.
Players are able to cast Unforgivable Curses freely since there is no morality system, and because they are made trivial it would be excellent if a Hogwarts Legacy sequel presented truly severe consequences or resources to the player.

There is no choice for an ending. The game is linear; you can't make decisions. Is it better to slowly beat someone to death, or do it quickly? Wands are lethal weapons, so learning the 'unforgivable' curses doesn't make you bad.
Are there any consequences for using unforgivable curses?
People can continue using these spells, and the game will not punish the player. There is no moral code, the storyline doesn't change, and NPCs continue to treat the users normally. At most, the player's companion will remark on them when they see a spell like Avada Kedavra.
In the Bad Ending, your character again struggles to handle the Ancient Magic unleashed by Ranrok's defeat, but instead of getting help from Professor Fig, you absorb some of that magic into yourself. Gaining an extra burst of strength, your character is then able to seal away the remainder of the magic on their own.
Dark spells in Hogwarts Legacy have additional benefits, such as causing a Cursed status on enemies and breaking through protective barriers. Using dark magic in Hogwarts Legacy has minimal negative consequences, primarily damaging the student's reputation and receiving disapproval from certain characters.
The quest to learn Crucio, "In the Shadow of the Study," will appear for you after completing the main mission 'The High Keep. ' To access the quest and learn Crucio, you must be at least level 16.
Nature. The pain caused by the Cruciatus Curse was described by Harry Potter as being worse than "one thousand white-hot knives, boring into the skin" and beyond what most people would ever experience.

This game has 3 different endings, with the first 2 being completely meaningless in terms of both story progression and post-game playthrough. The first 2 endings are obtained after defeating the final boss of the game.
Visiting Azkaban in Hogwarts Legacy is only an option for players who chose a particular House at the start of the game, and it is only a very brief and linear visit, but it's still exciting to see and walk around such a storied locale, even briefly.
If you turn it down, you can learn it later. Crucio deals high damage and “curses” the victim, making them more susceptible to other forms of damage in combat.
Should you learn unforgivable curses in Hogwarts Legacy?
Learning and Using the Unforgivable Spells in Hogwarts Legacy Doesn't Have Many Consequences. Hogwarts Legacy does give players the opportunity to learn all three of the unforgivable curses, though the only time you can use these specific crime spells is off of the Hogwarts campus.
The first time you can learn Avada Kedavra is at the end of the "In the Shadow of the Relic" quest. If you said no the first time, you'll have the opportunity to learn the killing curse from Sebastian later, depending on whether you snitched on him.
Later, in the Undercroft, the game gives you the option to turn Sebastian in or to let him get away with the murder of his uncle. Of course, in the real world, murder is a serious crime and should always be reported.
The character has an interesting story path in Hogwarts Legacy revolving around his family and past, so you would be missing out on a compelling narrative if you turn him in. If you do turn Sebastian in, it will lock out additional content that could extend your time in the Wizarding World's darker side.
Morality explained. While you can make certain choices and use spells that may be considered morally questionable, you cannot canonically be evil in Hogwarts Legacy. Essentially, there's no version of the story where you'll be recognised as inherently evil and rise up as a proto-Voldemort.
I personally find Crucio actually the most effective of the 3 unforgiveable curses with Imperio being the 2nd most useful. Avada Kedavra I find actually the most difficult due to the insanely long cooldown on it basically necessitating Crucio mastery and the mastery for it.
