Production. The first series was predominantly filmed in Brighton and Hove; however, location filming also took place in Sussex, particularly around the border between East and West Sussex. The first episode, Dead Simple, was shifted forward in the schedules by a week, originally set to air on 21 March.
Brighton is the show's main turf and the town's seaside landmarks – Brighton Palace Pier, Hove Lagoon and Embassy Court among them – have been regular fixtures across its three seasons to date.
Grace was filmed entirely on location in Brighton on the south coast of England and the surrounding area, where the story is set. Film crews were pictured on New Road, The Argus reported, as shooting began last year. They were spotted in the city centre and along the seafront throughout the summer.

Grace is a British television crime drama series, based in the English city of Brighton and Hove, that stars John Simm in the title role of Detective Superintendent Roy Grace, a dogged detective who, haunted by the disappearance of his wife some years previously, solves a variety of cases.

ITV has confirmed that Grace, its popular crime drama based on the popular series of novels by Peter James, will officially return for a fifth season, an announcement that comes before the latest season of the show has even aired.
Grace was officially renewed for a fourth season before the third even started airing, with the news coming through in January 2023. It will adapt the next four books in Peter James' Roy Grace series, with these being Dead Man's Time, Want You Dead, You Are Dead and Love You Dead.
You'll see the Grade II listed Brighton Palace pleasure pier located in the city centre opposite the Old Steine. The South Downs outside the town have also been used in previous series of Grace for some gloomy scenes. Scenes have also been filmed in Rottingdean and Burgess Hill.
He starts to move on with his life and meets and marries a mortuary assistant called Cleo in which they eventually have a son together. However, through the course of the series the reader discovers that Sandy is still alive and lives in Germany with their son that Grace never knew about.
At the start of the episode, the skeletal remains of a body are found in a storm drain, with the description leading Grace to believe it could be his wife Sandy. However, it's later discovered to be Joanna Welbeck, the wife of a failed Brighton conman who died in a plane crash years earlier.
However, despite Karen's plans and Grace getting sick before the vows, the wedding goes well, with James singing to Will during the ceremony. The next day, Grace discovers she's pregnant from her earlier encounter with Leo.
In the 11th season, Grace discovers that she is pregnant, the result of a one-night stand while on vacation, having hooked up with Leo on an airplane bathroom when she saw him while Will and Grace were flying to London. She decides to raise the child with Will, who is also having a child via surrogate.
After hooking up earlier in Season 8 with ex-husband Leo (Harry Connick Jr.), Grace gets pregnant, and she and Leo ultimately reunite, raising baby Lila together. So does Will (Eric McCormack)! In the series finale, we see him and partner Vince D'Angelo (Bobby Cannavale) raising a baby boy named Ben.

A little detective work suggests that we can expect series 4 very soon indeed. The first series was shown on TV in March of 2021, with series 2 showing in May of 2022, and series 3 in March 2023. So, it's a pretty safe bet that Spring 2024 will see the four feature-length episodes heading our way.
DS Norman Potter is still there, but sadly his fiance and colleague Bella Moy had died rescuing a child from a fire at the end of book ten, and now Bella is buried with full honours. Norman is distraught - his terrible jokes silenced. But before the end of the book Norman proves to be still a good detective.
Relationships play a very strong role in the book. Grace and his new wife Cleo have a fledgling relationship, with Grace conscious that his work does not come between them both. His rapport with all his work colleagues features very strongly throughout, as we get a peek into the personal issues of their daily lives.
