After declaring Vanellope to be a princess, they soon admired her casual modern outfit, and switched their trademark attire to modern casual outfits; Moana wears an orange tank top reading "#SHINY" along with the artwork of Tamatoa, and white shorts; along with Ariel, she is also seen barefoot throughout the film.
Specifically with Moana's outfit, her travel outfit with the salmon-orange top, and woven skirt, her bodice and sash are made from tapa. Her skirt is the woven pandanus, with added beautiful embroidery.
For her regular outfit, she wears a crop top made out of red Tapa with a layered style accessorized with seashells along the perimeter. She wears a red sash made from the same material that wraps around her skirt made out of shredded Pandanas and layered Tapa, with a slit for mobility purposes on her journey.
The costume designers wanted to make Moana's dress as authentic to her culture as possible. For example, the red color of Moana's dress was used to signify royalty at the time and since buttons did not exist, visual development artist Neysa Bové added a boar's tusk to keep the dress together.

No profanity, but characters do say "butt," "dumb," and "heiney." Also some creative insults, like "sharkhead," "beady-eyed bottom feeder," "filthy pile of pebbles," and "lying son of a..." Moana also tells the ocean that "fish pee in you."

Rachel House reprised her role in the Māori version of Moana, and took over the direction of the dubbing. In many European countries, the name of the titular character, Moana, was changed to Vaiana due to a trademark conflict. The film was released in those countries to bear the alternative name in the title.

Zendaya is not confirmed to be a part of the live-action Moana remake cast. Few updates have happened since Dwayne Johnson's announcement of a live-action Moana movie in 2023. The cast has not been announced, but Auli'i Cravalho (original voice of Moana) has been revealed to be sitting out of the film.
For instance, her full name is Moana Waialiki, which has a Hawaiian ring to it because of the "W", uncommon in the rest of Polynesia. In Hawaii, it would mean "Water king", with an unnecessary "k".
This change was reflected in the movie too, as Moana's name was changed to Vaiana due to copyright issues. However, in Italy's case, there was a much more specific reason behind the retitle.
