Castle Bravo was tried as an Anti-Godzilla nuke. Didn't work. A nuke instead empowers him as it did in 2019. You wouldn't need to ask if you actually watched the movies.

In films that depict Godzilla as an aggressor, we rarely know why Godzilla is angry enough to invade Tokyo. Presumably, he is provoked by war, pollution, industrialization, and of course, the dropping of the A-bomb. Loud noises, bad smells, and humanity's general disregard for the natural world invoke his wrath.
The rivalry between Godzilla and King Kong is well noted within their established mythos, including and especially the current MonsterVerse canon, but there's one kaiju Godzilla hates far more than Kong (or any other Titan, for that matter): King Ghidorah - and there's only one reason as to why.
Though he never sought pointless conflict against humanity and even cared with their well-being somewhat since he ensured his fellow Titans not intrude human settlements after becoming their alpha, Godzilla fully aware with worst thing they capable of and apparently keeping them under his watchful eyes.
