Although he survived, Levi lost the ability to walk and ended up wheelchair-bound, becoming a volunteer and helping the survivors. After years of intense battle and losing many friends, nobody deserved a break more than Levi Ackerman.
Despite all of this, he lived to see the end and spent the rest of his life in hard-won peace. Perhaps the greatest irony of Levi Ackerman wasn't that he survived, but that he couldn't save everybody he cared about despite his inhuman strength.
