The Monster hides from people and acquires human characteristics such as speech, rational thought and human emotions. However, his appearance works against him and he becomes the victim of human weaknesses and prejudice. He ends up lonely and isolated and asks Victor for a mate but he will not cooperate.

Mary Shelley's novel "Frankenstein" explores the dangers of ambition and the pursuit of knowledge without ethical boundaries. Victor Frankenstein's obsession with creating life leads to his neglect of his own health and well-being, and ultimately results in his downfall.
The terror, then, is that which Victor feels for his own love life; the horror is also the horror inspired by the disgust of a couple's accomplishment. There would be two monsters wreaking havoc on society. Victor does not want to be the cause of humanity's destruction, so he again refuses the monster's request. The monster explains that he and his companion would be harmless when isolated from humanity.
