An outstanding film with incredible acting but it's very important not to let any kid under 14 watch it. This film is a psychological horror about a man with DID (disassociated identity disorder) who abducts 3 teenage girls. It is very disturbing especially for kids who don't understand mental disorders.
Split is real enough. The bad guy is a real person with a real disorder portrayed, for the most part, in a very realistic way. For full fright effect, a thriller must go beyond the real into that which is unthinkable outside of the movie theatre.
A person next to her says she's thinking of Mr. Glass (Samuel L. Jackson), and the person who drops the bombshell revelation is the hero of Unbreakable, David Dunn (Bruce Willis). That's right. Split was a secret continuation of the Unbreakable storyline introduced over 15 years prior.

The acting by James McAvoy was excellent. The plot was probably the only thing that was a little confusing. This is a great thriller film with some flaws but its entertaining in which I believe the director did good. I'm not anticipating his next film as I am others but I'm interested in seeing his next film.
As for the actual final scene: it is a direct reference to Unbreakable, of course. As Willis' David Dunn sits at a counter, many remark at the television screen, wherein reporters breathlessly espouse that Kevin Wendell is now to be known as 'the Horde.
