Overview... a secret princess. Though she was born a monarch, Aurora has no idea about her royal lineage. That's because as a baby she was cursed by the evil fairy Maleficent and doomed to prick her finger and fall into a permanent sleep on her 16th birthday.
During her Christening, Aurora was cursed by Maleficent, and according to the curse, Aurora's unfortunate destiny was to fall into a sleep-like death on her sixteenth birthday after pricking her finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel. She is represented as an evil fairy and the self-proclaimed "Mistress of All Evil" who, after not being invited to a christening, curses the infant Princess Aurora to "prick her finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel and die" before the sun sets on Aurora's sixteenth birthday.
