The climax of Mockingjay occurs during President Snow's execution. Katniss is finally forced to make a choice between satisfying her desire for revenge or doing what is best for Panem in general. She has seen Snow as her chief antagonist for years, and now she has the opportunity to kill him.
Climactic Moment: Seneca Crane decides to change the rule back to force them to fight each other but they decide to eat the poison berries Peeta found the day before and die together. Seneca stops them and declares they both are the winners of the 74th Hunger Games.
Katniss moves back to District 12, while her mother remains in the Capitol where her talents as a medic are sorely needed. Peeta also returns to District 12. He and Katniss begin living together and eventually get married.

Is Gale jealous of Peeta and Katniss?
Gale is jealous of Peeta and the relationship he has with Katniss, and he wants Katniss to decide between them, though he doesn't press Katniss during her recovery in District 13. Gale is an excellent hunter and excels at setting snares and traps.
Peeta chokes Katniss in Mockingjay because the Capitol has convinced him that she is a mutt designed to destroy the Districts. At the end of Catching Fire, he was captured by the Capitol when Katniss escaped the arena.
Snow can't stand to see a young woman betray a young man's affection—his view of what happened 65 years ago. And so he takes out his old, festering wound on Katniss.
Katniss was actually revolted by the idea of the Games, but voted in favour in order to make Coin think she was supportive of her. Haymitch seemed to notice this, and voted in favour because of Katniss, which makes her realise that they are very alike after all.

What is the exposition of the book the Mockingjay?
Book Summary. The novel opens with Katniss wandering through the ashes of her decimated district, District 12. It's been a month since Katniss was rescued from the Quarter Quell arena after shooting an arrow at the force field, the same time her district was bombed by the Capitol.
The 100th Hunger were the 5th Quinquennial Quell and were held in an arena known as "The American Nightmare" and lasted for 3 days. The main events were rotating weather. This year's victor was Tritica MacDonald, aged 17, from District 9.
Snow laughs after Katniss killed Coin because he enjoys the irony of the situation. He avoided the official execution ceremony, even though Panem's citizens still take their revenge on him, while Katniss ends up snatching away the victory and power that Coin thinks she has successfully secured.
When Peeta talks about how he hopes someone else will kill Thresh, Katniss starts to cry because she doesn't want anyone else to die, which is unacceptable from a tribute in the Hunger Games. Instead, she disguises her tears as homesickness.
She remembers that they did indeed promise not to lie to each other anymore, and she realizes that Snow wasn't lying to her about Coin's role in the parachute bombing. He has no reason to lie to Katniss. His death is certain, but the future of the Capitol is not.
Snow personally fired Tigris, blaming her feline surgical enhancements. As Tigris Snow eventually explains to Katniss Everdeen, President Snow fired her because she wasn't pretty enough to be a stylist for the tributes anymore. In reality, it was probably due to his twisted views after gaining power.
Unknown to most people, President Snow poisoned others but drank the same drink as them to cover up his tracks, resulting in perpetual blood sores in his mouth. The scent of these sores are covered up by the signature white roses he is always seen carrying.

In the end of the first book peeta had his leg cut by cato but then when he hid he covered himself with mud and stuff to camouflage and it got hella infected but Katniss found him and took care of him but then his leg got torn up by mutts yada yada yada blah blah blah we already knew this.
He has betrayed her and is betraying all of District 12 by buddying up with the Careers, whom she calls the "Capitol's lapdogs." She decides that if the Careers don't kill him, she'd be more than happy to. Then, she wonders why Peeta hasn't told them about her bow and arrow skills yet.
While a prisoner of the Capitol, Peeta was hijacked into believing that Katniss was not human, but in fact one of the Capitol's mutts. Conversely, Johanna Mason suggested that the Capitol's torture replaced Peeta with an "evil-mutt version" of himself. This sentiment was later echoed by Katniss.
