“Do or do not, there is no try” is a very famous Star Wars quote said by Master Yoda himself. Yoda is always speaking backward and sometimes you have to switch the words around for something to make sense, but even that won't work for this quote.
This line is spoken by Yoda, played by Frank Oz, in the film Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, directed by Irvin Kershner (1980). Luke Skywalker is on Dagobah trying to learn to use the Force and become a Jedi with the help of a little green puppet named Yoda.
His chart-topping pontification that we've all heard a hundred times reads, “Do or do not. There is no try," from "The Empire Strikes Back." Presumably, the instruction here is to go all-in on your goals.
Even without this consideration, however, it's possible to find some in-universe reasons why Yoda referred to Luke as the last Jedi despite Ahsoka and Ezra, both people Yoda knew, being still alive.
