The Auction Scene The scariest scenes in Get Out are the ones that recall shocking realities. Jordan Peele uses cross-cutting masterfully during the auction scene, as he cuts between Chris and Rose saying, “I love you,” for the first time, and the Armitages auctioning off Chris' body.
Caution possible spoiler: It's quite clever and entertaining. Definitely creepy. As for scary, not jump scary but toward the end definitely some parts which some might consider a bit scary but mostly it's “suspense scary” and is actually more of a very dark comedy than what you'd call a traditional “scary” movie.
This ultimately culminates in the best moment in the movie, where Chris is trying to leave the house but Rose stays on the staircase, apparently struggling to find the keys in her purse. "Rose, the keys?" Chris says early in the scene, still trying to be polite.
The strong violence escalates in the latter half of the film as characters are stabbed, shot and gored. There are several scenes of personalised violence, often as a character tries to escape captors. The film also includes some gory surgical scenes, including the removal of the top of a skull, exposing the brain.

Far from the supportive and loving woman that Chris initially believed, she is instead a remorseless sociopath who takes pleasure in forming false relationships with her victims before sending them to be hypnotized and go through the brain surgery.
Because Froot Loops are colorful and milk is white, the separation of the two seemingly symbolizes the American Segregation era when people of color were forced to use different public amenities than white people.

Parents need to know that Out is a short animated film from Pixar. Its lack of iffy content makes it appropriate for all ages, but its message about a man being honest with his parents about his sexual orientation may not be entirely clear to the youngest viewers.
When the flash goes off in Logan's face his demeanor changes. Physical symptoms manifest which include a nose bleed, fear in his eyes and lunging at Chris saying "Get out". Initially, this perception of this is interpreted as aggression, but later he learns that Logan was actually warning him.
What made that hypnosis scene in Get Out so terrifying?
The encounter is all the more horrifying because of how powerless Chris is even before Missy has taken over his mind—and because of how he's left with no logical way to talk or think about the very real violation he just experienced.

Get Out draws on the visceral experience of being objectified or colonized by another consciousness. From the beginning of the film, Peele's directorial vision is clear: creepy, funny, totally contemporary and aware of what it's doing.
It is a very good movie, and works on multiple levels across multiple viewings. It is a great and suspenseful horror film, that has the best social subtext and satire (but not laugh out loud satire), that I have seen in the genre in decades.
Parents need to know that Up is the second Pixar movie (after The Incredibles) to receive a PG rating, mostly due to a few potentially frightening scenes involving a band of trained talking dogs trying to get rid of the protagonists, some moments where characters almost fall from a floating house, and some guns firing.
