Marshmallow is an enormous icy snowman born from Elsa's powers. He serves as a brute bodyguard charged with keeping intruders away from her ice palace.
Now even more terrified at the prospect of hurting her sister and people with her powers, Elsa forces Anna, Kristoff, and Olaf out by creating a gigantic snow creature (called Marshmallow by Olaf), a symbol of her desire to be alone so as to be able to use her powers without hurting anyone.

Why did Elsa's ice turn yellow?
When Elsa's ice palace is under attack, the colour of her ice changes depending on her current emotion. For instance, the ice is yellow when she combats Duke Westleton and his soldiers. However, the ice becomes purple or turns into a dark colour when she struggles to control her magic. The colour reflects her fear.
This means that when Elsa created Olaf while singing "Let It Go", while she was trying to do what the titular song says, she was actually keeping a core part of herself alive and connected to her family.

Sadly, “Frozen 2” did not live up to expectations.
