Fans of Harry Potter may want to add this UK destination to their travel list! In the Yorkshire countryside, you can visit Goathland Station, which served as the setting for the fictional Hogsmeade station, serving both the village of Hogsmeade and the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardy, in Harry Potter films.
Many of the movies' exterior shots — especially scenes of the Hogwarts grounds — were filmed in the craggy, cloudy Highlands of Scotland (mostly in the Fort William/Glencoe area). The Hogwarts Express runs along the actual Jacobite Steam Train line (between Fort William and Mallaig).
Located in the North York Moors, Goathland Train Station was the filming location for the Hogwarts station, Hogsmeade. Fans will remember the Hogwarts Express pulling into Goathland, as Hagrid welcomed the first years and led them across the lake to the castle.

Where is Diagon Alley filmed?
Leadenhall Market in the City of London was used as Diagon Alley in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, whilst the entrance to wizard's pub, the Leaky Cauldron, is in real life an optician in Bull's Head Passage.
Movie: Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone and the Chamber of Secrets. Shots: Alnwick Castle has been used for exterior shots of Hogwarts. Fact: Alnwick Castle is the second largest inhabited castle in England.
Lacock Abbey was used for many interior shots, most notably Professor Snape's Potions class. The hallway is where Harry first hears the basilisk. Lacock was founded in the early 13th century as an Augustinian nunnery. Today the abbey is a quirky house with a variety of architectural styles.
The Tudor hall here was the inspiration for the Hogwarts' Great Hall set, which the filmmakers created at Warner Bros studios in Leavesden, just outside London.

Three sets for the film were built in Glen Coe, Scotland, near the Clachaig Inn. Harry's ride on Buckbeak over Hogwarts' Lake was filmed at the Virginia Water Lake in Surrey. The Black Lake was also filmed from Loch Shiel, Loch Eilt and Loch Morar in the Scottish Highlands.
The only known bank of the wizarding world, Gringotts Wizarding Bank is in fact Australia House on the Strand, in Central London. The Exhibition Hall of this house, with its chandeliers and marble columns, was used as the interior of Gringott's Bank.
The Glenfinnan Viaduct, famously known as the Harry Potter Bridge, is a marvel of engineering and a sight to behold. With its distinctive arches and towering height, this 21-arch viaduct spans across the picturesque Glenfinnan Valley, creating a dramatic and awe-inspiring scene.

In Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone, Harry and Hagrid enter the Leaky Cauldron via what is now the Glasshouse opticians shop, in Bull's Head Passage, Leadenhall Market.
The historic village of Lavenham, in Suffolk, was also used to create Godric's Hollow in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 (2010). Lavenham Guildhall, a 16th-century, higgledy-piggledy timber-framed building, became Harry Potter's parents' derelict house on screen.
If you're on a broom, start near the Clock Tower Courtyard and travel south, towards the black lake. After a short distance, you'll see the hut on the shoreline. Land and you'll find a tombstone overlooking the lake.
