For me I think it's Conjuring 2. I remember it just sticking to my brain for a while longer than the first one did for some reason. The Nun combined with the vibes just felt a lot creepier to me. One of the best scenes between both movies was the Nun portrait scene.
Sadly, while The Conjuring 3 does feature some undeniably effective jump scares, it is not as creepy as the original. There are plenty of ambitious CGI-assisted glimpses into the world of demons, but fewer sequences that can match the original's haunting "hide and clap" scene.
The Devil Made Me Do It represents a comedown for the core Conjuring films, although Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson keep the audience invested. It may not contain many surprises for fans of the franchise, but this threequel more than makes up for it with another scary, tense adventure for the ghostbusting Warrens.

Watch it alone and I would rate it at 7/10. Watch it with someone and then 6/10. The movie captivates you from the beginning itself. Time is not taken at all to get to the real scary or horror scene, the demonic presence, the bad spirit, the possession of the girl are all direct and to the point.
