Alexander Skarsgård, Austin Butler and Jensen Ackles are among the brilliant actors who could take on the role of Aquaman. Other potential actors for Aquaman include Alex Aiono, Joe Alwyn, Dev Patel, Liam Hemsworth, Alexander Ludwig, Will Poulter and Sam Claflin.
Directed by James Wan from a screenplay by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick and Will Beall, it stars Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry / Aquaman, who sets out to lead the underwater kingdom of Atlantis and stop his half-brother, King Orm (Patrick Wilson) from uniting the seven underwater kingdoms to destroy the surface world.
I was originally underwhelmed by the portrayal of Aquaman in the Justice League movie. However, I was 100% won over by Jason Momoa's stellar portrayal in the Aquaman movie. He was given a much better script, and an opportunity to flesh out the character in a unique but plausible way.
Momoa played the character in a leading role in the 2017 ensemble film Justice League and its director's cut, Zack Snyder's Justice League. He then starred in the Aquaman solo film, which was released in late 2018. He also reprised this role in The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part.

Affleck was clearly the top choice, but we know Snyder also talked to Josh Brolin as a backup. Jason Momoa also auditioned for Batman, which is how he got Aquaman.
