Elizabeth Banks (born Elizabeth Irene Mitchell; February 10, 1974) is an American actress and filmmaker. She is known for playing Effie Trinket in The Hunger Games film series (2012–2015) and Gail Abernathy-McKadden in the Pitch Perfect film series (2012–2017).
While Effie Trinket is one of the most beloved characters in The Hunger Games, she's also inadvertently a cruel member of the Capitol. As a villain with heroic moments, she genuinely cares about Katniss and wishes the best for her. However, the way Effie smiles throughout the Reaping can't be anything but inhumane.
Dormer also played Cressida in the final two films in The Hunger Games franchise, which were released in 2014 and 2015. For the role, she shaved the left side of her head.
Given that she is willing to make the ultimate sacrifice to protect Peeta, it's safe to assume that the Morphling was committed to the rebel cause. Like the other victors, she knows the power that Katniss has as a lightning rod for the rebellion, and she knows that Katniss will not help without Peeta.
Johanna remains in the Capitol for quite a while, and she and Peeta are tortured for information concerning District 13 and the mockingjay rebellion. While in the Capitol, Johanna's entire head is shaved, making her bald.
According to the star behind Effie, Elizabeth Banks, she and Haymitch's Woody Harrelson improvised the scene. Considering she's been adamant about the characters having some romantic connection, it only makes sense that they'd share a goodbye kiss. It's very on-brand for Effie, as well.
I think the cruelest part was forcing the kids to kill each other. Not to mention making their families watch, making them anticipate and celebrate it, the whole forced "in love" thingy..and more. Just the cruelty of it all.
As Katniss gets to know Finnick during the Quarter Quell, she sees he is in fact loyal, dutiful, and caring. For example, despite Mags being a burden on his chances of survival, Finnick does everything he can to keep the eighty-year-old alive because, as we learn, she was his mentor and he genuinely cares about her.
Her breakthrough came at the age of 14, when she was cast as Rue in the 2012 film The Hunger Games. The film was a critical and financial success, and Stenberg's performance was praised. She received a number of awards and nominations, including a Black Reel Award nomination.
They drag him away and, according to Plutarch Heavensbee, he is killed during interrogation. Katniss suspects that President Snow planned this to throw her off-guard while in the Hunger Games arena. Despite Cinna's death, his designs live on in the third book, Mockingjay.

She lost some of her shallow nature as the series progresses, eventually defecting from the Capitol during the Rebellion while captured and tortured. She eventually felt extreme guilt over her actions and almost became an alcoholic like Haymitch, but reminded herself to stay strong so to not be like him.
The following year after Lucy Gray Baird's victory, another female tribute emerged as the Hunger Games winner. Mags Flanagan became the first victor from District 4, living off of nuts and her survival skills by creating fishhooks. She was also the first victor to move to Victor's Village before serving as a mentor.
The Cornucopia Bloodbath scene at the start of the hunger games is very intense and quite disturbing. We see children brutally murdered by other kids, although the camera is shaky, making the gore hard to focus on. We see spearing and stabbings and blood splashing out as well as a brief leg amputation.
Who has the most brutal death in The Hunger Games?
Glimmer. Alongside Marvel, Glimmer was a career tribute from District 1 with a tendency for brutality and arrogance. When Katniss is stuck in a tree waiting for the career tributes to give up, she receives the most brutal death in the Hunger Games franchise.
Katniss comes close to crying, something she knows she mustn't do because it would indicate weakness to the other tributes and make her look vulnerable; thankfully, Haymitch distracts the crowd and the cameras by stumbling off stage.
Toward the end of the novel, Katniss realizes that Haymitch has been keeping information from her and using her to help the rebellion, causing her to feel extremely betrayed. On the other hand, his goals are generally good ones.
Sadly, Phillip Seymour Hoffman died while filming the final installment in the series, and there was no way around the fact that his characters' role had to be lessened. Specifically he was meant to be in the scene in the film with Katniss where instead Haymitch reads a letter to her from Plutarch.
Ever since their first meeting in the elevator, Johanna Mason has had her eye on Peeta. Even though she came off as cold and distant, she was never afraid to show her admiration for Peeta. In that same scene in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Johanna asked Peeta how he felt now that everyone wanted to sleep with him.
In the case of Johanna, they each hated each other because that was what the Capitol had taught them to do. They were from competing Districts, and the idea of the Games was to keep the lesser citizens of Panem distrustful of one another and unwilling to form alliances (or raise arms in war).
