Neteyam Is Shot By Quaritch's Men In Avatar 2 In a harrowing turn of events in the Avatar: The Way of Water ending, Neteyam meets his tragic end at the hands of Colonel Miles Quaritch's men.
However, it is his more impulsive younger brother, Lo'ak, who convinces him to save their symbolic sibling Spider, the biological son of Miles Quaritch. Therefore, Lo'ak feels responsible for Neteyam's death, and Jake, whose headspace is also clouded by grief, blames his youngest son for his oldest son's death.
This should not be considered to be Neteyam's true self, explaining why he does not know he has died or mentions anything about the skirmish at the Three Brothers, as he connected to the Spirit Tree before the RDA attacked.
