Katniss stays with Rue as the 12-year-old is dying and Katniss covers her body with flowers. Then Rue's home district, number 11, sends Katniss a loaf of silver bread covered in seeds, an important gift in the arena when tributes must fight or scavenge for any food they get.
Peeta saw the signs of starvation and hopelessness in Katniss. He had compassion on her. He knew that if he didn't do something, she (and her family) would die. So, he sacrificed himself to give life-saving bread to Katniss.
Katniss received bread from District 11 shortly after Rue's death. She assumed the bread was originally meant for Rue herself, but after her death, the district decided to give it to Katniss.

Initially she views District 12 as a backwater and wants to use her tenure there as a springboard to a district with stronger tributes, but she eventually comes to support Katniss and Peeta. She despises Haymitch. Her catchphrase "may the odds be ever in your favor" is known across Panem.
Finally, Cinna gives Katniss the mockingjay pin that she's forgotten, reminding her of home. The reappearance of this pin recalls Peeta's desire to let those in the Capitol know they don't own him and stands as an image of hope and a sense of identity for Katniss in the Games.
Rue, the tribute from District 11, was 12 years old in The Hunger Games. She is the youngest contestant to participate in the Hunger Games. Rue is very small and delicate-looking. She is underestimated by all the other contestants.

Why does Katniss throw out the cookies that Peeta's dad gave to her?
She decides that she will have nothing more to do with Peeta and tosses his father's cookies out the train's window, but when she does this, she sees more dandelions and recalls Peeta's bruised face from years ago and how those dandelions gave her, her mother, and Prim hope.

The female Morphling, however, appears almost coincidentally, and Peeta even mentions that they don't know her real name. Given that she is willing to make the ultimate sacrifice to protect Peeta, it's safe to assume that the Morphling was committed to the rebel cause.
In The Hunger Games, Prim was chosen because she was wearing the mockingjay pin. I noticed Katniss gives Prim the Mockingjay pin before the reaping and prim wears it on her lapel. Considering many in district 12 can't afford jewellery, she stands out during a ceremony that's televised to all citizens.
Katniss even mentions that Prim is a beloved person throughout District 12, someone who “no one can help loving.” In the first book of the Hunger Games series, Prim's character is less of a fleshed-out person than she is a symbol of innocence.
Chia Mags kisses Finnick on the mouth to briefly let him know that this is the last time she will see him. It's her way of saying "Goodbye" but in a more affectionate way.
But all that changed during the events of Mockingjay when he revealed that his lifestyle was forced upon him by President Snow. After winning the games, Snow forced Finnick into prostitution and sold his body to Capitol residents to gain their trust.
Finnick Odair was a male victor from District 4 and the winner of the 65th Hunger Games, making him the youngest Victor ever. Ten years later, he was reaped into the Third Quarter Quell, of which he was one of the survivors.
