In the comics, Granny Goodness is one of the evil New Gods of Apokolips and a servant to Darkseid. She is responsible for training most of Darkseid's armies, including the Parademons and the elite assassins known as the Female Furies.
DC fans knew who that seemingly-random old woman standing next to Darkseid was, even if they were still laughing a bit at her name. Granny Goodness (yes, that's her real name) is the most evil elderly woman in the universe, and DC fans have likely seen her in live-action before.
However after Suli specifically, for Darkseid unfortunately Heggra didn't approve of her as a wife and Desaad was hired to kill her. After her death, with his original wife dead. He then chose Tigra, to be his next wife.

8 Suli, Darkseid's First Wife
Darkseid's first wife, and perhaps the only woman he truly loved, Suli is also powerful in her own right. She married Darkseid against the wishes of his mother Heggra, who had DeSaad poison Suli.
Darkseid held no affection for Tigra, but soon met the sorceress Suli, a pacifist who believed that power should be used to help the weak. Darkseid was enchanted with Suli and soon married her, questioning whether to continue with his murderous scheme to gain the throne. Suli, in turn, bore Darkseid a son, Kalibak.
Longtime Darkseid fans will know that Suli was the only woman Darkseid truly loved; she was killed as part of a conspiracy between Desad and Darkseid's mother Heggra, in a plot to harden Darkseid's heart.
For those who don't know: Darkseid is the character that led to the creation of Thanos, making the former the original figure of warlord dominance in comic books. Despite having racked up reputable feats and prowess for himself, Thanos is still not at the level of Darkseid.
After an intense battle, the Anti-Monitor fuses the Black Racer with Flash and sends it after Darkseid. Using the fused Flash and his own powers, he kills Darkseid. With Darkseid dead, the universe is unbalanced as it has lost its God of Evil.
However, where does Steppenwolf come into play, and which DC villain is stronger? Darkseid is most definitely the stronger of the two beings, as Steppenwolf serves as Darkseid's general, leading the Parademon armies into battle on his behalf.
Darkseid does get spooked when he gets abruptly overpowered by someone he underestimates. Is Darkseid (DC Comics) afraid of anything or anybody? His father, Yuga Khan. The most powerful Old God and the most powerful of ALL Fourth World deities.
Instead, he uses his servants to defeat his enemies for him. Apparently, Darkseid only fights opponents he deems worthy, such as Superman, Batman or Orion. One of Darkseid's wickedest disciples, Granny Goodness oversees the sadistic Orphanage of Apokolips and her own squad of Female Furies. Darkseid's armies are known for spreading terror across the universe, but they are molded into his loyal servants by the insidious Granny Goodness.
Darkseid is definitely the more powerful god, but Thor could take him. Thor always finds a way to win. He's a fierce combatant who can overcome beings who outclass him with his sheer pigheadedness. The Omega Effect doesn't always work against powerful foes, which takes away Darkseid's easiest way of dealing with Thor.
But then how did Odin beat Darkseid? WIZ: Odin tore the 4th world, the home of the gods, out of the divine sphere, thus Darkseid was no longer a higher dimensional being, just one god in one universe. This made it possible for Odin to kill Darkseid.
In various DC Comics and many other adaptations, Superman has fought Darkseid in one-on-one fights and defeated him, making him one of Earth's greatest defenders against the Apokoliptian despot.
Weakness. Radion: Darkseid and all of the New Gods are vulnerable to a substance called Radion. It source is unknown and its effects are toxic only in sustained amounts or after explosive exposure. The average New God can be slain by an application of Radion from a Radion blaster or bomb.
Galactus's mastery of the Power Cosmic holds the key to Darkseid's downfall. As powerful as Darkseid is, he's never shown any utility with many of the powers that Galactus has access to because of the Power Cosmic. It will give him the ability to defeat the God of Evil once and for all.
However, Steppenwolf betrayed Darkseid to enemies who wanted to seize the throne of Apokolips, but he later turned on the would-be usurpers, defeating them in the hope of correcting his error. Still, due to his betrayal, he was exiled from his home and tasked with conquering 150,000 worlds for his penance.
According to writer Mark Evanier, Jack Kirby modeled Darkseid physically on actor Jack Palance, while "the style and substance of this master antagonist were based on just about every power-mad tyrant Kirby had ever met or observed, with a special emphasis on Richard Nixon."
In "Harley Quinn: A Very Problematic Valentine's Day Special" Darkseid reveals in an interview that he found love with Kimberly Guilfoyle who he met when he delivered keynotes to the Republican National Convention where he instantly fell for her after seeing "her cold, dead eyes from across the room".
Unfortunately, before he could use it, Darkseid was defeated (nearly dying from his wounds) and forced to retreat by a combined army comprised of Humans, Amazons, and Atlanteans, along with the involvement of Ares, Zeus and Artemis of Old Gods and Yalan Gur, a member of the Green Lantern Corps.
