Haymitch Abernathy won the 50th Hunger Games, surviving a deadly arena with quick reflexes and strategic thinking. Winning the games came at a heavy cost for Haymitch, as his loved ones were murdered by President Snow as punishment for his victory.
The 72nd Hunger Games was known for being one of the best known Hunger Games in the history of Panem. It was also the first Games where Seneca Crane was Head Gamemaker. Art Solace was crowned as the victor of the 72nd Hunger Games. Art scored a 8 in his Training session.
The people of District 11 show their gratitude for Katniss' kindness by sending her a loaf of bread. This is unique in the Games' history; never before has a district sent a gift to a tribute that was not its own. This is exactly the kind of interaction that the Capitol fears.
The first winner of the Hunger Games can be tricky
Esme Yule is a lumberjack from District 7 and became the victor. According to the story being told by Magnus, the games took place in a vast field. It describes Esme choking another competitor and using her axe to slaughter a boy possibly from District 9.
He is "broad-shouldered and strong." Part of Peeta's left leg was amputated following the 74th Hunger Games, forcing him to walk with the aid of a prosthetic leg for the rest of his life. In the 2012 film adaptation, his leg is never amputated.
Annie Cresta (70th Hunger Games): District 4 female who won due to her swimming skills. She was in her early 20s when the 75th Hunger Games took place but was spared. She later married Finnick and had his child after he is killed.
The 18th Hunger Games were won by 18 year old Gamma Morrison from District 3. This year's games were very liked by the Capitol due to the nature in which Gamma won the games - using her expertise in electronics to dig up and re-arm land mines to kill her opponents one by one.
The 20th Hunger Games were won by 16 year old Travis Head from District 2 who became known as the "Bloody Mary" for killing 16 tributes. This year's games are the longest recorded games in the entire history of the games, having lasted 31 days.
Six tributes in total survive the 75h Annual Hunger Games: Enobaria, Beetee, Finnick, Peeta, Katniss, and Johanna. Katniss, Finnick, and an injured Beetee are rescued by the rebel forces. On the other hand, Enobaria, Johanna, and Peeta are captured by the Capitol and imprisoned.

In the end, Katniss and Gale grew apart, as many childhood friends and young loves do. She needed something different in her life, and with Gale's link to Primrose's death, Katniss found a reason to cut ties. If Katniss ever wanted to find comfort again, she knew she had to return to Peeta for the long term.
Toward the end of the novel, Katniss realizes that Haymitch has been keeping information from her and using her to help the rebellion, causing her to feel extremely betrayed. On the other hand, his goals are generally good ones.
Gale Hawthorne was two years older than Katniss in The Hunger Games, but Liam Hemsworth was actually born the same year as Jennifer Lawrence. Gale was 18 years old during the first film, meaning he partook in his final reaping in the story, while Hemsworth was 21 when he shot his scenes.
With the last killing occuring before an hour had even passed, these games shocked the Capitol audience and are the quickest in the history of the games.
After Maysilee was killed, Haymitch faced off against the last remaining tribute, a girl from District 1. Although his opponent nearly got the upper hand, Haymitch outsmarted her by leading her to the force field and dodging her ax throw, causing it to bounce back and kill her.
