It could have been much more in the right hands. I thought the acting was on par with the material the actors had to work with. CGI was lax and the situations the family found themselves in could have been orchestrated to be much more complex and dramatized. This is why A Quiet Place excelled.
The cult members abduct Ally but Grandma Lynn runs outside to help her. Lynn holds Ally's captors down and screams; vesps kill her and the captors while Ally escapes. The Silence's ending shows her and Rob silently hunting the Vesps in the woods and offers hope for a future where humans can, if not wipe out the Vesps, then at least survive alongside them.
