She is also referred to as "Mr. Saavik" by Spock, who is a personal mentor and has presumably known her for a very long time. Admittedly, this would be considered offensive misgendering but in this case it's likely an affectionately stubborn nickname along the lines of Galen's "Mr. Picard" in "The Chase."

After Star Trek III: The Search of Spock, the resurrected Vulcan was supposed to have a baby with Lt. Saavik (Robin Curtis), but the entire storyline was deleted from canon.
Kirstie Alley left Star Trek due to a salary dispute with Paramount, resulting in her iconic character being recast for future films. Leonard Nimoy was impressed with Alley's portrayal of Lt. Saavik, but her agent's salary demands led to her departure from the franchise.
As Spock explained to Kirk in Star Trek: TOS, his union with T'Pring was "less than a marriage but more than a bethrothal." At the beginning of the third movie, we learn that Spock and Uhura decided to break up, after Spock mentioned his dilemma about going back to New Vulcan, getting married and helping to rebuild instead of going through his Starfleet carrier.

In Star Trek: The Original Series' season 2 classic, "Amok Time," T'Pring (Arlene Martel) formally ended her betrothal to Spock (Leonard Nimoy). The reason given was that T'Pring wanted to marry Stonn (Lawrence Montaigne) because Spock was more devoted to his Starfleet career aboard the USS Enterprise than his fiancée.
Spock quickly perishes, and, with his final breaths, says to Kirk, “Don't grieve, Admiral. It is logical. The needs of the many outweigh . . .” Kirk finishes for him, “The needs of the few.” Spock replies, “Or the one.”
Saavik, the Vulcan character originated by Kirstie Alley, didn't return in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country due to budgetary reasons and concern about the film's story turning her into a traitor. Released in December 1991, Star Trek VI was the final time the original cast of Star Trek appeared together.
Leonard Nimoy (who directed Star Trek III: The Search for Spock), wanted Kirstie Alley to reprise the role of Saavik, but, according to Nimoy's autobiography I Am Spock, Alley's agent requested a large salary increase that the production simply couldn't afford.
Spock's mixed human–Vulcan heritage serves as an important plot element in many of the character's appearances. Along with Captain James T. Tragically, the heroic Vulcan succumbed to radiation poisoning. Spock was 55 years old when he died in Star Trek II, which is relatively young considering Vulcans can live up to 200 years old. Spock's father Sarek (Mark Lenard), for example, was 203 when he died in 2368 during Star Trek: The Next Generation season 5.
Uhura's first name was not used in Star Trek canon until Abrams's 2009 film. The mystery regarding Uhura's first name is the subject of a running joke in the film, as Captain Kirk repeatedly tries to find out what it is, before finally hearing Spock call her "Nyota" in a moment of intimacy.
Star Trek: The Original Series writer David Gerrold, has also spoken about K/S slash sometimes. In 1985, Gerrold commented: One of the truths I've been telling lately is that Kirk and Spock are not lovers ... they're not even boyfriends. They're just good friends.
The beloved Vulcan's full name is officially S'Chn T'Gai Spock. The name actually comes from a popular fan work-turned novel for The Original Series in Barbara Hambly's Ishmael which was published in 1985.
Spock made a tough decision to keep his adopted sister a secret to protect the galaxy in "Star Trek: Discovery." Spock's history of keeping personal matters private helps explain why he never mentioned Michael Burnham.
At some point, Picard mentions that he has met Spock only once in the past. Indeed, in "Sarek" Picard mentioned that he had met Sarek during Sarek's son's wedding (the son presumably being Spock). While conversing with Picard, Sarek mentioned the many times that Spock would disobey him and travel to the mountains.
Surprisingly, though, there's evidence the role of Spock was originally offered to Oscar award-winning actor Martin Landau instead. In a 1986 interview with Starlog, Landau, who had since become associated with Gerry Anderson's Space: 1999, recalled being offered the role, only to turn it down.
In Star Trek: Defiant #9, Spock acknowledges he could never live up to Kirk's reputation as Starfleet's greatest captain, but that he would not be able to control his desire to – leading him to never pursue the captain's chair.
