Once an Elf is granted passage from the Grey Havens to Valinor, they sail across the Sundering Seas and enter the Undying Lands, never to return to Middle-earth. Valinor is its own sort of heaven, an eternal land of paradise for Elves to live among the gods.
So at the time of LOTR, Frodo as a hobbit would be 51, but as a human would be 27.9 years old. Pippin would be 15.8, Sam would be 21.3 and Merry would be 20.2. Makes a lot more sense as to why Pippin acted more childish than the others lol.

Gandalf's last job in Middle-earth was to bring Bilbo and Frodo Baggins, the Ring-bearers, to the Undying Lands. It could be that this task was exactly why Gandalf stayed in Middle-earth for so long after the One Ring was destroyed.
After the death of King Elessar, Legolas made a ship in Ithilien, and through Anduin, he left Middle-earth to go over the sea. His strong friendship with Gimli prompted him to invite Gimli to go to the Undying Lands; making him the first and only Dwarf to do so.
Gandalf is not the type to do things rashly or to rush something as important as the destruction of the Ring. He also might have felt that as long as the Ring didn't go anywhere, it couldn't be a threat. He also might have not wanted to put his friend Bilbo in harm's way if it could be avoided.
He was fortunate enough to be adopted by Bilbo and allowed to live in Bag-end, but he too spent much of his time alone in the wake of his parent's tragic demise. In any case a confrontation of Frodo and Sauron would soon have taken place, if the Ring was intact. Its result was inevitable. Frodo would have been utterly overthrown: crushed to dust, or preserved in torment as a gibbering slave. Sauron would not have feared the Ring!
Sauron's defeat allowed for a happy ending for the surviving members of the Fellowship of the Ring as they moved on with their lives. Frodo and Sam (Sean Astin) returned to the Shire at last, and Sam started a family.
After his wife's passing, Sam entrusted the Red Book of Westmarch to Elanor. According to Elanor, Same went to the Grey Havens and sailed to the Undying lands to be reunited with Frodo. As Sam was also a Ring-bearer (although only for a brief time) he was granted passage to sail into the West.
Two years later, Gandalf departs Middle-earth forever. He boards the Ringbearers' ship in the Grey Havens and sets sail to return across the sea to the Undying Lands; with him are his horse Shadowfax and his friends Frodo, Bilbo, Galadriel, and Elrond.
Though Gimli has no children, he is not the last Dwarf of Middle-earth. After the fall of Sauron, his people continued to thrive in the Lonely Mountain. Gimli made his home in Rohan, in the Glittering Caves of Aglarond, and many of his kinsfolk came with him.

After his wife died in Fo. A. 61, on 22 September Sam left Bag End, and went to the Tower Hills where he was last seen by Elanor, entrusting to her the Red Book; according to her, he went to the Grey Havens to sail across the Sea and be reunited with Frodo in the Undying Lands.
However, a specific scene in The Lord of the Rings has led fans to theorize that Frodo and Legolas didn't talk, not because of time, but because the hobbit didn't know Legolas' name (and was too embarrassed to ask).

At the time of the War of the Ring, Aragorn is already a whopping 87 years old, and should, for all intents and purposes, be a frail old man. However, Aragorn lived many long years after the war, as the ruler of Gondor, with Arwen at his side.
