Even though she implies that her second prediction in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire refers to Harry (that death “comes ever closer” and “circles overhead like a vulture… over the castle”), it proves to be true when the second Hogwarts champion Cedric Diggory dies at the end of the Triwizard Tournament.
Many of her prophecies of predictions came true, however big or small. Her most famous prophecy was the one she made about the defeat of Lord Voldemort by Harry Potter's hand.
The prophecy in question made to Albus Dumbledore by Sybill Trelawney had foretold the coming of a boy who would have the power to vanquish Lord Voldemort. The prophecy was made while Trelawney was having an interview with Dumbledore for the post of Divination teacher at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
As Dumbledore stood to welcome Trelawney, he was the first to rise from a table of thirteen, and also the first to die, meaning that Trelawney predicted the death of Dumbledore years before the event occurred.
Trelawney's Prophecy was overheard by a Death Eater, who promptly reported it to his master, Lord Voldemort. However, the eavesdropper did not wait to hear the full contents of the Prophecy, which ultimately resulted in Voldemort's first defeat when he attempted to kill Harry Potter.

Born in the late 1920s to Muggle parents, Myrtle Warren started her Hogwarts life in the early 1940s, where she was sorted into Ravenclaw. She had no friends, and was bullied relentlessly because of her glasses and acne. But she would soon have all of eternity to get her own back.
As he was prepared to let her down gently, Trelawney entered a trance and made a prophecy regarding to the Dark Lord's downfall. Dumbledore immediately hired her, mostly to protect her from the Dark Lord, but also in hopes of hearing another genuine prophecy.
Percival, in a fit of vengeful rage, attacked her assailants. This resulted in his arrest and conviction by the Ministry of Magic. He was sentenced to Azkaban, where he later died.
Of course, even Dumbledore's closest confidants didn't know about this arrangement, so it seemed to both the Order of the Phoenix and Voldemort's Death Eaters that Snape had killed the headmaster in cold blood.
The prophecy is mentioned throughout the series, however, it never exclusively mentions that Harry is The Chosen One and suggests Neville was another option. However, one theory explains why, in reality, this wasn't possible.
When she speaks to Luna in Half-Blood Prince, Trelawney responds with “an angry, drunken titter.” Rowling writes that Trelawney “developed an over-reliance on alcohol” due to her perceived ill-treatment. Alcoholism is an addiction and should be treated as an illness, not a character flaw.
Sybill Trelawney was a seer and professor at Hogwarts but definitely didn't make for the most welcome on-screen presence. Harry Potter depicted her as a rather unstable person, leading to some problems with the trustworthiness of her prophecies.
In a trance, she referred to a boy who would be born with the power to defeat Lord Voldemort, but that neither the boy nor the Dark wizard could live whilst the other survived.
Although Professor Trewlawney's magical abilities were often disregarded on the grounds of her general weird character, she was an extremely gifted seer and became especially important after predicting Voldemort's defeat. Apart from her Divination skills, Professor Trelawney was also rumored to be a powerful duelist.
Trelawney was replaced by the centaur Firenze, appointed by Dumbledore (much to Umbridge's shock and fury, due to both Firenze being a "half-breed" which she hated but also Dumbledore appointing someone before she could) who taught in Classroom 11 rather than North Tower, where Trelawney remained living.
Harry describes Umbridge to Sirius Black, saying that she's vile enough to be a Death Eater, despite not being one. Umbridge is also depicted to be a prejudiced person, despising half-breeds and Muggle-born witches and wizards to the point of firing Hagrid due to his half-giant birth status.

Why? Yes, she thought Professor Trelawney was a bit of a fraud and the subject was useless…but it seemed that what she couldn't cope with was not being amazing at a subject straight away. Trelawney expressed that she didn't have what it takes and rather than try to prove her wrong, Hermione believed her and gave up.
Umbridge was appointed to the D.A.D.A. teaching post not by Dumbledore, as was customary, but by the Ministry of Magic. She was sent to Hogwarts to monitor the school as well as Dumbledore due to fears that he would try to overthrow Minister Cornelius Fudge.
Upon looking into Dumbledore's manipulative ways and his intense plans, the most likely reason Dumbledore did not help Sirius is that the result would have interfered with his plans for Harry. Had Sirius not been sent to Azkaban, he would have been Harry's legal guardian instead of the Dursleys.
He was a wizard of the royal court as an adult. He was executed by an improper decapitation, after he had a magical mishap with Lady Grieve. He tried to straighten her teeth but it backfired and she grew tusks. Since then, he became the resident ghost of Gryffindor Tower at the Hogwarts Castle.
Peeves is a poltergeist, not a ghost, so he never died and was never a living person. A poltergeist in the Harry Potter universe is just a tangible manifestation of chaos/mischief. In Peeve's case, he's the manifestation of the chaos that results when you have a large group of students in one building.
