Violence & Gore (10) Dwayne is shot by an arrow and falls into an amp. The arrow impales the amp and the vampire is electrocuted and his head explodes. Only a few brief moments of violence until the climactic battle scene, where it gets really bloody and intense. This is why it was given an R rating.
The film works a lot better as camp than as a serious vampire film; however, parents should be warned that there are some scary moments, and younger or more sensitive kids may be frightened.

'Sh*t' is said five times. 'Godd*mn' is said once. The Lord's name is taken in vain, including 'Jesus' said twice and 'Christ' said at least once. A few instances of minor name-calling and insults.
I don't think an R rating was necessary, but considering the Marvel movies are PG-13, that rating can be a little misleading for movies like "The Lost City." "The Lost City" is officially rated PG-13 for violence and some bloody images, suggestive material, partial nudity and language.

Yes there is violence, but the characters and situations are so interesting and complex and entangled that the point is never the violence, but rather the moral challenges of survival and community.

While the actors' ages tell a different story, I believe that Michael is supposed to be 16-17, while Sam is supposed to be 12-13.
