We heard bedtime stories about Nemo's father's adventures with the mysterious, adventurous Flip in Slumberland. But then Nemo lost her father in a horrible sea storm.
In reality, she is still asleep and in Slumberland, the world between dreams. Here, she meets Flip, learning that he is real and not simply a character her father made up. A stubborn and unscrupulous outlaw, Flip is looking for a map that will lead him to magical wish-granting pearls.
Slumberland Changes Nemo and Phillip for the Better
As such, Nemo's revived, with a grateful Phillip embracing her and promising never to let her go. The movie ends with Phillip displaying more bravado, akin to Flip, flirting with Nemo's teacher and taking his niece on a sailing trip.
The final scene of Slumberland, though, flips the film on its head as it shows Nemo sleeping, happy to continue dreaming. But Pig's ear twitches, indicating it really is alive.
Some of people we meet start to see things different after they speak with a man searching for his pig. And you can't think of a better ending of this story. Yet this is not a happy story and there are no happy endings to it. But the soundtrack at the end was perfect.

Slumberland is an enjoyable movie for any age. It dives into the grief and fear of losing a loved one and adapting to your new life. Characters are fun and positive. The antagonist is scary, but nothing too much for kids.
