Semuta Music was a music played to elicit the effect of the drug, semuta. It had an eerie, atonal quality that was generally unmistakable. After one ingested the drug, the music would then be played in the background.
Melange (/meɪˈlɑːnʒ/), often referred to as "the spice", is the fictional psychedelic drug central to the Dune series of science fiction novels by Frank Herbert and derivative works.
Semuta – "Second narcotic derivative (by crystal extraction) from the burned residue of elacca wood [from Ecaz]. The effect (described as timeless, sustained ecstasy) is elicited by certain atonal vibrations referred to as semuta music."
Health benefits: taken regularly, it increased life expectancy and fortified overall health levels (in many cases life expectancy was tripled); Addictiveness: the spice had narcotic properties, thus increasing demand and creating a large and hungry market for it.
The Fremen, natives of Arrakis, use the drug to induce spiritual rituals and craft materials, while the secretive and conspiratorial Bene Gesserit religious order uses melange to enhance their superhuman powers of perception.

Why is spice so valuable in Dune?
Spice is chiefly used throughout the galaxy as a highly addictive psychoactive drug. Mystical orders such as the Bene Gesserit use it in spiritual practice to achieve heightened states of awareness, but its primary users are human computers like Mentats and Navigators.
In Dune, Arrakis is the most important planet in the universe, as it is the only source of the drug melange. Melange (or, "the spice") is the most essential and valuable commodity in the universe, as it extends life and makes safe interstellar travel possible (among other uses).
Their larvae, known as sandtrout, seek out water that mixes with their excretions. The resulting mass creates gases that eventually explode onto the surface. The pre-spice mass, when exposed to the air and sun, becomes melange.
In addition he is prescient, and has the ability to foresee the future. Strictly speaking Paul Atreides is a flawed or failed hero. He isn't exactly a villain (bad guy) but he also isn't truly a hero. He is in fact an example of the danger of heroes.
Spice serves various purposes in Dune, but in both movie adaptations of the novel, Baron Harkonnen, former ruler of Arrakis, summarises its importance with the line: “He who controls the spice, controls the universe.”
It's still unknown exactly what the origins of Baron Harkonnen's spider-like pet are, but Dune's VFX artists have confirmed at least one thing: the creature was once human and has since been mutated or altered to have this disturbing shape.
Sandworms are giant creatures found only on the desert planet Arrakis. They are worshipped as agents of God by the Fremen, who consider their actions a form of divine intervention. The Fremen also refer to the sandworms as "Makers" or "Shai-Hulud".
Some believe that the Spice is a part of Sandworm faeces that is produced by the Worms consumption of the sands of Arrakis. However, that is a misconception. Rather, it is the Sandtrout that “produces” spice.
Instead, the worms feed on microscopic sand plankton that exist throughout the desert planet. The plankton feed on traces of melange in the sand which can create the illusion that sandworms are drawn to the spice, but they are actually only interested in the plankton.
Additionally, Leto II says in the fourth novel of the saga that Earth no longer exists. And by the time of Frank Herbert's sixth and final Dune novel, Chapterhouse, which takes place several thousands of years after the time of Paul Atreides, the Bene Gesserit refer to Earth as simply being "gone."
A Fremen conspiracy attempts to assassinate Paul using a stone burner. The attempt fails, but the effects of the weapon destroy Paul's eyes. Although he becomes physically blind, his prescience allows him to "see" by tightly locking in reality with his prescient visions.
His fatal flaw was the same as his parents before him. Love. He loved Chani, his new people, and the land they would remake together. The Atreides would never be pried from their home again. Paul was desperate to avoid the Jihad, the Golden Path, and the need to become God Emperor himself.
In Dune lore Fremen get these intense blue eyes after prolonged exposure to the Spice. But, Paul also has blue eyes after he ingests the Water of Life, which is not just spice, but more specifically, bile from a baby sandworm.
Paul drinks in large gulps, and after a few moments of pain Paul announces he has transformed the poison. He kisses Jessica to share the transformed Water and we see their shared vision of the Universe, traveling towards the centre of blinding light, the forbidden place.
The book describes sandworms as being 400 meters – about four football fields – long. Both film and television adaptions of Dune have paid homage to this description, creating titanic worms that dwarf the human inhabitants of Arrakis.
Gigantic villain Baron Harkonnen (Stellan Skarsgård) is nearly poisoned by the captured Duke Leto Atreides (Oscar Isaac), who releases the gas capsule placed in his mouth. But grievously harmed Harkonnen escapes by air, by kicking the anti-gravity device he needs to move about into instant overdrive.
It's no secret that Star Wars owes a lot to Dune in terms of inspiration. Recent years have shown that even after the first film, its most famous planet, Tatooine, operates similarly to Dune's Arrakis.
