The film is a sequel to “The Nun,” which came out almost exactly five years ago. The sequel is far more well-received and delivers a better scare factor, better writing and a more interesting plot. Valak is impressively creepy when incorporeal, glimpsed as a shape in the shadows of peeling paint or the turning pages of magazines on a rack.

While there is no chapter and verse in Scripture saying horror movies are sinful for Christians to watch; it would be incredibly unwise and even dangerous for believers to partake in films that make light of the demonic and make it look entertaining.
Summary. The Nun II's story takes inspiration from a real life legend. While the movie takes liberties with its real inspirations, it builds a connection between Irene and Lorraine Warren. The Conjuring Universe still has stories to tell but The Nun II's real inspiration revealed a key piece of the puzzle.
