The mid-credits scene of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever picks up seconds after the film's conclusion, which sees Shuri (Letitia Wright) visiting Nakia's (Lupita Nyong'o) homestead in Haiti and finally taking a moment to grieve for her brother and move forward by burning her funeral clothes.
At the end of the film fans are introduced to T'Challa's son Toussaint, also known as Prince T'Challa (Divine Love Konadu-Sun), who is being raised by his mother Nakia in Haiti, away from the pressures of the throne.
But the reference to Toussaint is one of the most overt historical references in any Marvel film. Hazareesingh calls him “the first Black superhero of the modern age,” and he has one great power that T'Challa does not: While both men's stories are symbolically powerful, Toussaint's is also historic fact.

What is the significance of Haiti in Wakanda Forever?
Haiti is his home and will forever be a part of his identity. This marriage of the fictional African empire and the real-world nation where Black independence was won creates a powerful symbolic avatar in the form of this young boy.
It's likely that Toussaint will have a much larger role in future MCU storylines, potentially taking up the mantle of Black Panther and even sitting on the throne of Wakanda.
