The Prophecy was a prediction made by the Oracle and, as told to Neo by Morpheus, stating the coming of The One and that it will herald the destruction of the Matrix and the freedom of humanity from their oppression by the Machines. Once The One enters the Source, he will have the power to destroy the Matrix.
Neo was the “chosen one” both figuratively and in-universe, but the way the Matrix movies deal with the idea of a predestinated hero is quite different from other popular stories like Star Wars. In The Matrix, being The One meant that Neo could perceive the Matrix simulation in a way that no other human could.
Cypher. The mustached, snakeskin-jacket-clad, traitorous crewmember of the Nebuchadnezzar. The anxious Cypher accepts his role as a traitor over a last supper in the Matrix, savoring his juicy steak.
What is the self fulfilling prophecy in the Matrix?
In another way, as an integral part of the Matrix, the Oracle's intelligence and composure lead her visitors to believe what she says, a trust that perhaps renders her prophecies self-fulfilling. In this sense, she shares the same final goals as Morpheus, Neo, and Trinity, and together they actively shape the future.
At the start of the series, Neo is one of billions of humans neurally connected to the Matrix, unaware that the world he lives in is a simulated reality.
In addition to Neo's general ability to manipulate aspects of the Matrix, perhaps his most notable power is being able to dodge bullets, although being able to fly is certainly up there as well. Neo is also telekinetic in general, able to move objects with his mind.
Neo's true nature as The One manifests after he is shot and apparently killed by Agent Smith while trying to escape the Matrix after rescuing Morpheus from interrogation by the Agents. After a confession and a kiss from Trinity, Neo reawakens in the Matrix, his powers enabled, and easily defeats the agents.
The Supreme God knows all but remains remote from human affairs, almost in a state of irrelevance because it is so impossibly unknowable. A lesser god, the Creator God, exists, the son of a virgin who was herself created by the Supreme God.

At the end of the first movie in The Matrix trilogy, Neo is seemingly killed after an intense fight with Hugo Weaving's Agent Smith, a program created by the machines to police and control the Matrix.

Neo as the One is given the same choice as the previous Ones, to either go into the Source, or go back to save Zion. Each time before this, there was no Trinity to save, nothing back in the Matrix but the inevitability of Zion's destruction. So he would choose the source.
The Animatrix confirms that only two people have ever achieved self-substantiation: an Olympic track athlete named Dan Davis and a teenager known as The Kid. The Animatrix segment "World Record" revealed Dan accidentally unplugged himself from The Matrix by pushing himself beyond his physical limitations during a race.
Matrixism, or The Path of the One, is a purported religion inspired by Lana & Lilly Wachowski's The Matrix film series. Conceived by an anonymous group in the summer of 2004, it claimed to have attracted 300 members by May 2005, and the religion's Geocities website claimed "over sixteen hundred members".
While influences from both biblical motifs and pop mysticism are in evidence, the film references these sources — along with many other sources, including classical Greek culture, Lewis Carroll, and Star Wars — in a way that is of aesthetic significance, not religious.
